The alabaster falcon

Post by Lady Misha »

The crackling fire lights up a desolate camp as the boorish laughter of harsh tounges can be heard over the clinking of glass mugs. Burly men in heavey coats and worn leathers heave battered crates aboard a rat infested ship. As her eye lids flicker a bit, a purple and white lizardess yawns and goes to stretch, finding the task rather difficult. A few straps of leather hold her arms legs, even her tail in place. As she thrashes out agaist her bonds she goes to scream for help. But finds her toothy maw to have been gagged. As she fusses and squirms a comotion starts to break out among the bustling crew men. Oi! Oi Durnal...it's moven' ya ere' me? The damned thing is moven'! Says a rather plump bald man with a tatoo circling his great round belly. A man as scrawny as this one is fat eyes the inside of a chipped mug as he goes to make sure every last drop has been comnsumed. Not even looking back as he calls out in a voice akin to the scrapping of nails agaist a chalky surface

An what exactly would ya ave' me do Sunta? The Cap'n want's this thing alive, AND in pristine condition when we get back...I can ardly' bonk her on the ead' now can I? He says with a voice wrought with condensation. Before adding If yer' so tipped about it go an get the Cap'n ya turvey git. The fat man looks nervous for a momment before looking back to the lizardess and finally rushes abord the gang plank, sending dust from it's sides as it creaks under his girth. No sooner does he get halfway across when he finds his way blocked. Cap'n I was just abou- His sentence is cut short as he is pushed gently off the side of the ramp, and into the chill night waters below. Wasting no time the captain makes his way off the wooden board, his peg leg thumping as if to anounce his arival to the crew men ashore. Every single warm body stops dead in their tracks and salutes him as he treads purposefully towards the fire.

With a single gesture of a gloved hand the captain orders are understood. And the work resumes, somewhat faster then it was before his arival. The clatter mugs being raised having fallen silent. Awake at last I see? You've certainly been keeping me waiting now haven't you? He says with a crass smile as her tilts her head by the bottom jaw. Dreadfully sorry about the restraints...but we couldn't exactly have you taking a stroll now could we? Not after all the trouble it was to drag you this far. He lets out a gruff laugh as he looks to the squirming lizardess, a laugh that is echoed obediantly by the men milling about the camp site. Oh? Talkitive are we? Well, far be it from me not to lend a sympathetic ear. He says with a smirk as he stoops down to untie the gag about her mouth.

the otherwise authoritative demenor of the captain is mommentarily deminished at the first agitated words the bound reptile bellows. Misha doesn't know what you've heard around town. But Misha is not THAT kind of lizardess! Somewhat puzzled the Captain raises a brow and and taps a finger off his chin. What? seems to be the best he can manage at the momment. Curling up as much as she can in her bonds she says in an agitated voice. Don't expect Misha to simply lay back and let you have your way with her! She'll fight you tooth and claw! Blinking a few times the captain and infact the whole crew seems to be struck still with the absurdity of her statement. I assure you I have no intentions of that sort! He says as he gains back some lost composure. Uncurling from her posture Misha tilts her head and says with a bit of disappointment in her words Not even a little?

Turning a shade of red the captain fumbles with his hands as he looks back to see some of his crew laughing. Before he slams his fist down on the table and shouts, leaving the camp fire in a hush . Damn it to the sunken falls! I am not going to take advantage of you! The scrawny man know as Durnal meekly pipes up just barely over a whisper. But Cap'n...aint we selling it? Seems ta be takn' just a slight bit o' advantage of er'... The captain gives the man a steely look, who promptly tosses himself into the cold water, landing a short distance away from the man who was tipped from the plank. He turns back to find Misha leaning forward a bit. What are you selling Misha? Seemingly fed up the captain just tells his men to lug her aboard as he walks briskly to his quarters, putting the matter behind him for now.

Several days passed as the ship rocked atop the waves, the salt air fresh in the lungs of those above deck. The captain exits his quarters with a laugh. That beast will mind her tounge in my presence now! She's probably broken into tears after being left in that rat's nest of a brig! He slaps his knee and bites into a wedge of cheeze as a crew member informs him lizards can't actually make tears. I'd wager that they can, and I know the quickest way to find out. He says with a self satisfied smirk as he strides down into the bowls of the ship and across the creaking floor boards Have you had enough lizard! He calls as he approaches the brig at the head of a procession of sailors. His self satisfaction growing with each step he takes towards the cell. Oh my yes, Misha has had more than enough She says as he flings the door open, his smug smile creasing into a frown as he looks inside.

Misha lays back comfortably against a pile of fur and picks her reddened teeth with a tiny bone. She doesn't think she could eat another bite... The captain angrily tosses his hat onto the ground as the men behind his take a few steps back This isn't a pleasure cruise damn it! Your not supposed to be enjoying yourself! He fumes as Misha tilts her head and smiles Oh, right...Misha forgot...you wanted to sell her something didn't you? After that nice little meal and this private room how can Misha be so rude as to forget. The captain rubs his creased brow and balls up his fist before pointing a finger at his captive. The gravity of the situation seems to have escaped you lass....you are the prisoner of Captian Gideon Finch, the dreaded slaver of the Orange Coast. You should be shaking in terror, praying to whatever gods have deserted you poor soul! He bellows as he puffs out his chest.

Misha wags a claw at the captain after hearing this and shakes her head Well that certainly isn't nice...Misha demands to see the captain this instant. She is sure that this is some sort of misunderstanding. Gideon draws his fencing foil with an agrivated huff and points it at Misha, with each step he takes forward he forces her to take on back until she is up against the wall, it's point deftly resting against her throat. Oh, there's a misunderstanding alright...You MISS...don't seem to UNDERSTAND the way I run MY ship. NO man, woman, nor BEAST, talks to CAPTAIN GIDEON FINCH that way and lives to tell the tale! Misha whimpers a bit as she presses against the wall as much she can, taking in a few gasp of air as he yells at her. Your kind fetch a high price aye, but if you don't mind that forked tounge of yours on my ship, I"ll simply cut my losses and be satisfied with a pair of new lizard skin boots. Do I make myself clear?

Crystal... The word keeps ringing in the back of her mind as the days pass aboard her captor's vessal. That was all she could manage to say as Gideon pressed his sword into her neck. Misha needs to get out of here....Sssari's probably worried sick...or that frisky little devilfish is trying to sink her hooks into him again... She says with a sigh as she paces back and forth, her claws clicking off the old wood. Oh...wait a tick. That gives Misha an idea... She smiles as she clicks one of her claws off the floor again. Now all Misha needs is to get the captain down here... Above deck Gideon takes in the sight of the fathomless sea as he talks to one of his officers What do you think of a parrot? I've been thinkng that if he were to go on my shoulder...it could make up for say....If I ever loose an eye. The officer chuckles a bit before saying Oh my sir, a fine idea as always! before mumbling under his breathe What's next...a hook? Gideon's keen ears pick up something other then the crew man's comment as he points to the door leading below deck. Who's keeping watch down there again? He slaps his face and grimaces as he answers his own question Durnal....

As the door is swung open and a slew of pirates storm in Misha blinks a few times as she stands a few steps away from a scrawny figure slumped against the wall, a sizable bump on his noggin Oh my...this didn't exactly go quite as Misha thought it would.... She backs up a few paces and nervously curls her tail as Gideon approaches. Now isn't this a pretty sight...Trying to escape after I warned you to- The Captain stops a momment as Durnal of all people stirs to his feet But Cap'n, it aint like that see.... Gideon reluctantly sheaths his sword. She didn't talk you into having your way with her did she? The captain says with a smirk as he watches the fallen man get to unsteady feet. Well, we got to talkn' while we were down ere'...an' she said that a handsome man like meself must ave' no trouble with the ladies on shore leave. I told er'....erm He looks around to the pirates eyeing him with wide grins before talking a little faster That I'm likely the father o' the whole o' Albar! But a little extra advice wouldn't hurt me chances none.... Misha rolls her eyes before continuing the story So Misha was teaching him to dance...and since he couldn't figure it out on his own...he let her out of her cage to show him. But he sort of tripped over his own feet...

Durnal, Durnal, Durnal...If it weren't for your father I'd be tempted to leave you in the first port we came to... He says with a shake of his head I'm sorry Uncl- Gideon gives him a hard look Cap'n... Misha twiddles her claws a bit and points at Durnal Let Misha take care of that... She says as a bit of a green glimmer flickers in the dark as the crew watches on in awe Me ead' it's not bangn' no more... The captain strokes his beard Well I'll be damned...Maybe I was being a bit hasty. I can hardly sell such a talented individual. Misha perks her head up in excitement. Honest? Your not selling Misha? She says as she nervously chews a claw. Mercy no Misha, I could never do that now. Misha jumps for joy at his words before he says something that causes he spirits to drop Alright you bildge rats! Everyone to the mess hall! We've got ourselves a new memeber to the crew!

The din of the mess hall is loud and joyous as swarthy pirates sing drinking songs Misha could just use her magic to set the ship on fire...so you better just let her go.. She says with a huff Well, I'd of imagined if you could do that, you'd of already done it. I'd wager that you can only cast healing magic, which suits me just fine. Come now, Don't be so down lass! You'll find the alabastar falcon more hospitable then the alternative. He says as he takes a swig of ale. Mind you, given you swimming ability, I can hardly let you above deck...at least not for a year or two, by then you'll have more of a home here then back on that island... He laughs a bit as he continues to talk, spilling a bit of his drink Marriage is over rated anyway...they always end up leaving you...suddenly loosing a leg is the end of the world... Misha taps her mug a few times, having never bothered to drink from it yet. You know...Misha could fix that up for you, if you'd like. Gideon seems shocked as he leans forward So I was right then? Only resoritive magic! Ha, I've managed to get ahold of a real pasivist! Aye, you can fix my leg. But I don't want the men to see, Might spoil there mood. Follow me to my chambers...

A storm batters the windows of a candle lit room as it rocks back and forth on the turbulant waves. Gideon laughs as he kicks off his peg leg and puts the stump up on his desk. As soon as we hit port I'm going to donate a little something to a temple, I'm not sure how I wound up on any of the gods good sides...but I'm damned sure someone is looking out for me. He says with a laugh before waving his somewhat wobbling hand at her, the other still grasping a mug of ale. Alright, alright..enough dilly dallying, you just let me know how this works and get to your magery... Misha twiddles her fingers and nods Alright...but you can't watch Misha...she gets nervous if people watch her. And if she's nervous it might not work... The captain laughs dryly and pulls the brim of his feathered cap over his eyes Well aren't you just the delicate flower...I must say I am surprized.

And oh, the captian was right...for even her was surprized when he snuck a peek out from under the brim of his feathered hat You haven't said anything in a while lass wha- He stops short, as his sturdy peg leg comes crashing down on him in the grip of a scaley hand. Oh my...Rukka was right...that is satisfying. She drops the peg leg and pokes at Gideon a few times Misha hopes she didn't kill him A few low mutters come from Gideon as he lays on the floor, at which point Misha can't help but scream as she reaches for one of the heavier looking books on his desk and wallops him again. S..ssorry! She sits there with the unconcious captian for a momment Now Misha just needs to come up with a plan She finds herself interupted by a loud bang at the door Cap'n are ye alright? Me an' the boys eard' screamn'...

Minutes pass without a response form inside as Durnal looks to the feirce pirates gripping they're swords. Alright captian...we're comming in on the count of three.....one.....two.... The oak doors swing open as Durnal calls out three, every single crew man rushes into the room with a battle cry, then stop dead in they're tracks Ssssh! You'll wake him! Misha hisses as she looks to the speechless crew men from beside the naked Captain, pulling the covers tightly about herself I didn't realize he was that drunk... Whispers Durnal as he tip toes out with the other crew man onto the deck Oh no! He's awake...and he sure is grumpy! She calls out as she pushes the naked, bruised and unconcious captian's body out of the bed with a thump By the sea! Listen to him thump around in there! I'm out of here! Exclaims a frightened crewman. As the door swings open and the captains heavey coat and feathered hat appear those in its way scatter. The figure makes it's way above deck, gathering speed as crewmen start to whisper and follow behind. Wait a minute...is that a TAIL!

Misha takes a deep gulp of air and looks to the furious men behind her No? She says, before the pirates look to each other then back to her Get er'! Durnal calls out as Misha skitters on all fours towards the deck, clamboring up the stairs, skuttling under tables and drifting around corners as she claws at the wooden floor in a desprate attempt to escape. All the while screaming NOOOOO! Thick leather boots pound behind her as the pirates give chase, Durnal actually a fair lead ahead of the rest. I'll ave' you know I'm the fastest one board' this ship! He calls out as he steadily gains on her And Misha will have you know... She calls out as she bursts atop the deck and leaps at the railing You just ran out of ship to be the fastest on! She yell victoriously as she plunges towards the water, only for the approaching waves to suddenly stop drawing near Erm.... Is all Misha seems to be able to say as she dangles over the edge of the ship Gotcha! Durnal beams as the crew cheers and salutes him, his feet against the railing as he grips Misha's tail with both arms, struggling to hold her Don't touche Misha there you pervert! Only Sssari, only Sssari! She calls out as Durnal lets go, blushing out of reflex. The last thing she hears before she hits the water is the unmistakable sound of thirty four burly men all slapping their own forheads in unison and shouting DURNAL!

Misha laughs wonderously as she swims beneath the waves, bubbles escaping the end of her snout as she speaks to herself, and perhaps the very frightened sea turtle the wants nothing to do with her, retracting into it's shell Misha can finally go home! She yells joyously, not helping the turtle to relax at all as he slowly attempts to run for his life. Misha then takes a few momments to think Only question is... She says as she scans the deep blue horizon under the waves Which way is home again... She sighs and takes a seat on the turtles shell, who lets out a groan before hiding in his shell again Wait a tick.... She says as she reaches in her purse, something the pirates had never seen fit to releive her off the entire time Ooopsy....Misha is definately leaving this part out when she tells this story... She says slightly abashed before reading from the water logged travel book and being sweeped, along with the turtle and a few room fulls of sea water, through a portal and to the outskirts of Troll's Bane. Safe and sound.
