About new version (@Bror) - question about it

Post by Setherioth »

I know a lot of people have probably asked this in different posts, but i can''t find any answers.

Could you, Bror, possibly gives us a general idea of when we might be able to expect the new client, or a client update, or ANTHING new?

thanks

If there is a new client/server you can see it under
Information->news

Bror gives the information first if it is released.

i think what seth was asking for was a general time table on when to expect some changes in town.  as in, when is bror planning on updating, maybe 1 month from now?  2 months?  6 months?  something like that.  just a general idea so we all will have something to look foward to.  I know he is busy and does not want to commit himself to an exact date incase he gets more busy than he thought and cant complete the update in that time period, but if he or someone else working on the project could give a genaral time frame, it woud be much appreciated by all who are a part of the town.  :)  .  please......  we dont even need to know how many months from now, how about which season of the year should we expect it?  winter, spring, summer, fall?

Almost every few days.

If someone can give me a timetable for the new version, I would appreciate it too.

Actually they have been busy lately:

- shovel breaking
- ra kel qwan making fields
- re-designing the demon cave

and the not so new one about the multiplying buckets

Are the demons and rotworms stronger now?

@Martin: School is where you learn, if that's what you mean...
I think Sean meant your university. Just shorter than University by 4 letters ;)

Dark Sunrise!! Don't say that!!
Isn't it enough that shovels break?!?!?!
Wait... does that only happen when you HOLD the shovel and dig?
Oh, and Bror, I think this goes along with topic:
Can you tell us if maybe there will be a 50% chance of having a new client by next year?
I think that's pretty 'in-general'...

Eating strawberries isn't new at all :)

ok, but Bror, could you at least give us a 'general' idea of when me might expect the next client. We won't hold it againts you if you miss your guess by 10 years!!! i'm just naturally curious :) and it would give us something to look forward to. Sorry to keep bugging you

...."ok, but Bror, could you at least give us a 'general' idea of when me might expect the next client. We won't hold it againts you if you miss your guess by 10 years!!!"...

Ok then let the next client be in 10 years. That gives you an Interval of [today,20 years later].

And once again, the reasons why there is no time schedule:

- It is not unusual for professional game development companies that a game is scheduled 1 year after project start and is nevertheless published 4 years later
- we are no professional company, i.e. we don't work constantly 40 hours per week, so we would meet the schedule worse than the professionals
- we are in our examination, after that we are transfered to a different army/airforce base where we don't know how much spare time there will be to program
- I have no payed workers, which I can command to program something, so I could perhaps tell you when I would be ready, but its senseless since I can't do anything when Baldur doesn't work too.
- Players keep nagging if the time schedule (that was never ment to be used) isn't precise
- We don't do any project management
- We don't have experiences with time schedules from past projects like companies have
- Baldur is redesigning the whole server, so there is time needed just to get it to do the same as the old server did
