A battered dwarf lies at the cross in a pool of blood

Post by Odin Harbek »

He had a fantastic day up until this point now he was brutally beaten and barely clinging to life at the cross of Cherga in Trolls Bane. After saying goodbye to his newly made friend Krall a man asked him for his armor. Being a dwarf of pride he refused and fought the thief as best he could. It wasn't enough and he soon tumbled into the shop bleeding immensely. The thief gave the fatal blow and know his soul was trapped somewhere between life and death. Suddenly he snapped back to reality and he was at the cross looking around dazed. His attacker approached again demanding his armor. It wasn't too long ago that a pair of orcs unceremoniously stripped his armor from his dazed corpse. This time he wasn't giving in and basically told the attacker to go to hell. The thief proceeded to kick the nearly lifeless dwarf into the cross repeatedly still demanding the armor.

Odin wasn't about to give in this time he would die with honor not even flinching as the thief pressed his dagger onto his neck. The thief said he would kill Odin if he did not take hand over the armor. Death for an armor sounded stupid he was about to give in when everything went black....

Now the battered, bruised, and blood Odin Harbek lie motionless at the cross on a faint sign of breathing can be seen. He would surely die without aid.

~Chester walks his mule "Dragonbait" into Trollsbane to prepare for the Auction~

"Follow me Dragonbait" Chester said, "Stupid Mule!"

Chester leads the mule along the workshop, drops some things in the Trollsbane depot, then proceeds toward the Seahorse Inn to check supplies. Along the way, he sees a small body lying near the cross.

Curious, Chester walks closer and gasps as he sees it is a dwarf! Not only any Dwarf, but Odin!

"..Odin!" Chester stammers as he rushes to the body, the mule sheiking "IIIIIAAAA!"

Grabbing Odin's Head in both hands, he checks for life.

"Thank Irmorom, he's still alive! Odin!" Chester exclaims. Quickly, he rushes to Dragonbait, unties some cloth and a few healing potions and returns to Odin's side.

Chester uncorks the potions, lifts Odin's head, and pours them down his throat.

"Pfft, Ppppffttt" Odin sputters weakly.

Chester binds his wounds, then grabs Odin's body over his shoulder.

"Come dear friend, I'll take care of ye." Chester says as he places Odin over Dragonbait's back and ties him down with rope.

"Follow me Dragonbait," Chester says to the mule and leads him away, toward the east.

Placing a hand on Odin's body, Chester closes his eyes briefly in prayer.

He prays,
"Mighty Irmorom, from whom all 'stones' come, give Odin the strength and will to heal his wounds, both physical and mental. This old stone has seen much, and needs your aid. Grant me the strength to seek vengence upon the cowards who attacked this tortured soul. Grant me the power I need to send the to Hellbriar where they belong!"

Chester opens his eyes, brimming together with tears and fury, and leads his cargo by the Theater. He stops briefly, and writes upon the Board there "Auction Cancelled today". Then continues along the road to the east.......to Goldburg!

Rukka was headed for the well in her old coat, holding a bucket in each of her green hands with the obvious intent of getting some water.

She blinks a few times upon seeing the blood-covered ground where Odin used to be, heading over to examine it for a moment, leaving her buckets at the well and placing a hand on her sword just in case.
Hur, beddur be carefuls. she mutters to herself.

The orcess grunts lightly and peers around the area before walking back to the well more alert and cautious now.

((Bleh, Chester was too fast. ))

He was dazed and confused but unfortunately the cause was not sibanac. His lips tasted bitter and he could now feel something covering his wounds. Someone had come and given him aid. He tried to open his eyes but everything was a blur, but even without being able to see he knew someone was carrying him. A groan escapes his lips along with a cough this time no blood came forth but instead a bit of the healing potion drooled down his cheek. Slowly his vision returned to him and the first thing he saw was Chester's mule Dragonbait. Thank Irmorom that a brother had found him he thought still feeling dazed.

He knew before long he would be within the walls of Goldburg free from the filthy swine of Trolls Bane. He never wanted to return to Trolls Bane as long as he lived. It should have been a sign the first time he was robbed not to go back. Sad thing was if had never went to Trolls Bane he would never have met Krall. His thoughts were running together causing a painful confusion. His wounds were not fully healed yet and his stomach grumbled loudly. He was feeling nauseous apparently the healing potion combined with bouncing on Chester's shoulder was not a good combination.

Another groan escapes his lips and no doubt he is in a lot of pain. Odin fights the urge to throw up and takes slow steady breaths. When would they make it to Goldburg? Oh he hoped they were close. As his mind focused on the goal his nauseousness began to subside and he felt himself growing very tired. Once again blackness came forth and he passed out again.
