The Pig Plague
An illness has struck the pigs of Troll's Bane, south of the tavern.
A solution is at hand. I still require, however, at least one hide and one chunk of raw pork from one of the infected beasts.
If you happen to have managed to garner some leather and meat from one of the ill pigs, please store it in a safe location and post a note on this parchment with your name, I shall come in contact with you.
The note remains unsigned, however the shabby and shaky script seems to have been written by an inexperienced scribe.

People of Gobaith, I have seen this once before many years ago! There is a way to cure these pigs and I know exactly how to do it! The cold season was long and many of us went with less food than we should have because of this sickness that plagues our swine. If you would allow me to help then together we can overcome this.

I have found the solution a long time ago, but decided not to get involved.
Seemingly, however, it was harder to find than I thought would be for the folk of Bane, hence I'm offering my assistance.
As I said, the remedy is already at hand, all I need is meat and leather from one of the ill pigs, I am unable to get them myself.

*The days seemed to roll by without delay now that Eli had a full roster of students to teach, a baby son to raise, and his guardly duties to uphold. In the forefront of his mind a nostalgia was growing for the free time he once had as an aspiring mage. Each time the thought surfaced he would immediately try and focus on things at hand. Most often it was simple with the amount of crime prevalent in Trolls Bane or a son in desperate need of attention. However, today was different. Kaila was not around, and he wasnt in Trolls Bane so the urge to do something self-motivating was at hand. Now the question surfaced, "What to do?"
For weeks he coveted the inkling to just run out and do something for himself. Of course now that he could actual do just that his brain locked up. A few forced blinks not only refocused his eyes but his mind as well. A weeks worth of ideas flooded his cerebral cortex in an instant. There was so much he wanted to do, but one of his ideas kept resurfacing so he caught it and set out to do it. From the first ritual he ever saw performed he knew he wanted to do thousands of his own. Sure he did the usual rituals needed for testing students, but he had never attempted to do something more productive and meaningful. Thinking back on a problem plaguing Gobaith the words of his Druid friend, Achae, bubbled up and reminded him of the pig plague.
Sure he had read about the pigs being ill and some random person writing about how he or she could solve the whole thing. Yet still the pigs remained ill and even more disturbing to him was the fact that conjured pigs were ill as well. They were skinny and their leather tainted. For now the reasoning evaded his mind, but he would find out. It took several attempts with a difficult incantation to hear that familiar clap of thunder. Immediately it was followed by a swirling vortex of magical energy that used the manastream as a pathway to a different destination. Once stepping in he was instantly moved to his desired ending point, the shop of Eliza.
What had brought him here was the three preserved leathers of the infected pigs of Trolls Bane. With a lackadaisical wisp of his hand his depot flung open revealing its contents. This time using a more focused wave of his hand he transported several items into his bag: an ancient book of rituals, the three leathers, a few pells, ink, some parchment, a quill, a dagger, a bottle of antidote, and some empty bottles. With a quiet wish to himself he once again performed the gate spell. This destination, however, would be a bit more secluded. Success! Only one attempt and he was just a few paces from where he wanted to be. Now for the ritual....*

A note is pinned to the boards, written in neat handwriting:
dear Sirs,
whoever is working on a solution for the pig plague, I am willing and now maybe even able to help.
Finally a courier reached me, bringing stingweed from the Gynkeesh swamps, which I ordered. These plants have been used in former times to heal the symptoms of the raging plague, still the stingweed is recommended today.
For the coming days I will be in the Northmark to assist with a birth, but as soon as I will be back I would be pleased to help and meet anyone involved in finding a solution.
May Ushara guide your paths.
sincerely

*It was midday now and the sun was beaming down hard across the forgotten ruins far to the east. The roofless building was probably a guardhouse at one point but now it lay in ruins. Rays of sun light revealed patches of cobwebs attached to rubble once considered walls. Various rock forms sprouted from the ground a clear indicator of how long the building had been collapsed. Near the ruins you could easily see the Temple of Tanora, or as the Lizardfolk called her Zzyathis, and just to the west a vast forest of tall trees that shaded the area at sunset. With a wave of his hand he flew and landed in the center of the deserted ruin.
Slouching his shoulder slightly he lets his bag fall with a thud temporarily clouding the ground in dust before it settles still again. Standing still he stares off into the north over the rippling stretch of water harboring typical wildlife: frogs, dragonflies, water striders, and with crystal clear water fish. A relaxing sigh flows from his lips followed by a determined nod. Flipping open his bag he takes out his three leather hides and puts them on the ground before him. After a few laps around them tapping his chin he stoops to his knees and looks over the leathers closely. Since these were still fresh the life source of the pig was still present and by focusing his mind he might be able to see a trace.
A lengthy intake of air starts to slow his heart rate and after slowly closing his eyes he begins to meditate over the leather. No longer seeing but feeling the presence of the leather and the diminished mana it contained. Perhaps some powerful magic was the cause of this devastation but whatever it was it was evading his detection. After nearly four hours of constant concentration over the leather nothing was becoming clear. Afterward he proceeded to conjure several more pigs and focused his mind over each looking for imbalances. It wasnt until the sun fell that he realized one of the most powerful axioms in Ritual Magic, multiple people. He needed more people focusing their mind on a common goal then perhaps anomalies would reveal themselves.
Spending the rest of his time sending doves and making a post for the boards of the Academy he decided to call it a day and start anew tomorrow.*

In the forests of Tol laughing at Darren crawling almost in circles chasing sunbeams through the breeze blown leaves of the trees, Kaila looks up tilting her head at one particularly white spot that with a sound of wings becomes gradually larger and lands on Darren's rump as he crawls. With a giggle, he then starts to sit up trying to reach the dove before it quickly flies over to Kaila dropping a parchment in her hand only missing a few white feathers that now reside in Darren's hand. After reading it she turns the parchment around writing a quick note on the back then folds it up only getting a few dead leaves from the ground inside before attaching it to the dove and sending it on it's way.
We will be there when you need us Love.
Kaila
Reaching now to try to get the white feathers from Darren's hand before they get to his mouth she whispers "we will see Papa soon". Kaila then sweeps Darren up in her arms hugging him as he giggles "This should be very exciting!"

Artimer and Sssari went to Tanora's temple, following a rumor that the place had become infested. Upon arrival they discovered that there were no monsters. He left a potion and a prayer to Tanora to heal the pigs. He then left and meditated for a while by the water. He then went and tried to feed a pig a healing potion.

~Deep within Goldburg, Chester sits at a small table, surrounded with parchments~
Chester reviews his orders, past and present, for C.O.W.S. and notices the one Order from the very beginning he hasn't been able to fill.
"Damn Plague!" Chester swore.
"what rotten timing. If only it could be solved quickly, I could complete this."
Chester sighed and picked up a parchment of Treasury figures.
"Well...at least that 'kid' has the answer. If only his contact would hurry up and create the medicine for the pigs."
Chester sighed as he reviewed the numbers.
"Let's see....100 Silvers for a cure, and only this 'kid' even came close. He has 40 already for the work he did, and 60 remains."
"Good kid, great energy......lousy Druid friend." Chester sighed.
"I hope the people of TrollsBane appreciate what we are doing for them."
With that, Chester grabbed a blank parchment and began writing a letter, scribbling, "Dear Kid, what is the holdup? Please work quickly!"
Chester signed it and called for a hawk. Dutifully the falconeer brought a Hawk in, and tied Chester's note to it's leg.
As the Hawk took off, Chester wondered, "I do hope it is soon!"
((Just waiting for the GM to get back folks! Be patient!))
