Possibility that a name is already taken?

Hello.

I am just wondering what is done when the name you request is already taken. You see, I sent in a request for the name "Auriel" and then, out of curiosity, checked to see if I had been accepted (this was before I knew that it takes at least a week). However, instead of getting the message that says I have not yet been accepted, I got a message saying the password was incorrect. Now, I know I have not messed up with the password, so now I am wondering if this means that a player with the name of "Auriel" already exists and if I should send out a new request (typically not recommended), wait it out, or both?

Perhaps you might just inform me of a way of finding out if my character name is taken (an accepted player list of some sort which I may not know about).

Your help is greatly appreciated.

when you made your character and had given him its name the character was created... i suppose... if there was something wrong with the name it would have told you that you could not create the character because the name was taken. now that it says "Incorrect" Pwd when you try to log... the only reason i could think of is that your character is not approved yet.

if it was approved then somebody must have messed up your pwd while registering your character... if so contact accounts@illarion.org (i think i did not mess up with the e-mail adress now) and besides this belongs into the "Technical Support" forum...

Thank you. For some reason I had doubts as to whether the character creation process checked for existing character names (don't ask me why..... something about the "account" process just threw me off I guess....)

As to my posting this question on the General Board, I am sorry. I wasn't completely sure to which board it pertained. I will repost immediately onto the Technical Support board. Future readers of this post please ignore (or redirect).
