Herb Lore Difficulty...

The Title explains half of it, now for the explanation:

I've been going around town, just around the Troll's Bane area with my new little elf, and searching plants around with a sickle, but the only problem is this: the blasted thing keeps saying, "Your knowledge in herb lore is not sufficient(ly) enough to collect herbs here."

What in the world am I doing wrong, or what is wrong with IT?

Help!

Certaint Flower/herb spots need a certaint knowledge to be used, means you need to find yourself an "easy" spot and harvest there for some time, than you "unlock" new spots.

you can only check hedges at first...and for quite a while, but you won't find anything worth finding on a hedge

Almost right.
You can pick mushrooms at first ... and they are useful.

Mushrooms are used for a certaint soup and onions to grow onions on filds, used for many things ig.

onion seeds are gathered after the onion plant on the field "rots" once more.
