Server Reboot Warning

Post by HeXiS »

recently i've lost two gifted items when the server rebooted and my frineds dont have them. and i end up holding things i traded them but they still have the things too.. just now a friend gifted me two axes and a shield since the last server reboot ate the first shield he worked for a long .

i propse a 5 to 2 minute warning when possible and maby an emergency auto save for system reboots. most of the rpg's ive played have these.. it makes things alot easier in rp too..

Sometimes when the server shits on itself it's unintentional.

We once had a system that saved like every galf hour but it lagged too much and everythign was unplayable, people logged out at this moment and it lagged even more.

if you make a "great" trade simpyl log in and out, that saves everything and the server normally is pretty stable anyway.

That last thing was really a crash. If we shut down the server for technical reasons, we really shut it down. Means that all characters are saved and logged out. And in those cases we sometimes even tell the players 10 seconds before that we shut down the server.
But in case the server crashes, we can't do anything.

But this was one crash within alot of days. We look for that one, but those bugs that happen really rarely, are hard to find.

Trust me man, one crash in weeks is fucking heavenly compared to what it USED to be.

's cool. Just glad it doesn't crash every 20 minutes and lag constantly like the good old days.
