News*****

We will be accepting people for the Intermediate Wizards Council. (I.W.C.)

There are no ranks in this guild, and you dont have to Pay to take test, or to be questioned or interviewed (cough cough). anyhow....The Council is not a ranking. It is a privledge. We vote on things in this, concil, and we will be in charge of getting things done. (f.e.: get mana potions, keep up with money......etc.)

Our money has a purpose now. We are going to save up for mana potions for us, and more.

The council will vote on what else we should save the money up for. We are thinking a training/dueling hall for mages, but, we arent sure.

If you want to apply for this council, please private messege me, or, even better, talk to me in the game.

**To be in council, you must be skilled, and be able to do most spells, even though the council isnt about power. **

On what grounds do you say that greed is not a legitimate rp reason to do something? It is one of the best ways to play a dwarf or a rich lord! and why should the reasons of Dyluck's guild matter? Everybody's point was to talk about the bad rp reasons of this guild, not compare it to another guild

well sorry, but greed is pretty unethical, and the handing out of titles when you have no given athority is almost exploiting the game for your benifit.

Violence, killing, stealing, lieing, and evil are even more unethical so does that mean you think all those things are not legitimate roleplay too?

Excuse me? What is this "authority" you speak of? Whoever said you need to be given authority to make a guild and hand out titles for your members? Do you know what is roleplaying? There is no such thing as an "official" title that the game or GM gives you and any title your character has nothing to do with game techinics or game authority. You don't need a license to call yourself a merchant or a knight or to run a school or a shop. This game is about roleplaying, and you can call yourself whatever you want but what matters is how people react to it. You can even call yourself the King of Illarion if you want, but people will just think you're stupid or crazy.

o well i guess you can go about it if you want, i guess if people want to pay money for a bunch of words good for them, i wish i had a way to make money like that :D

you said who needs to be given authority to make a guild, why does nilo need your authority to make his guild, thats what it seems like, you didnt say that directly but your badgering him, (kind of what im doing) but its all in good fun :D

accually killing for no reason isnt because its against the rules.

Gro, when did Dyluck say Nilo needed to have his permission to make this guild?

Also, Nilo is talking about a guild fund, where is the money going to come from, unless you have someone pay you, like a normal school, you have to pay for the Magic academy, and trying to build somthing with donations only, takes a very very long time.

Gro'bul, have you even read all the posts about the reasons his guild was getting criticized? Nobody ever said Nilo needs someone's authority to make a guild. He needs to keep the guild's objectives IC and play by the rules. Do you know what roleplaying means? Think about the REASONS people criticized his guild got before you blindly defend it. Read the rules and think about why making a guild to "train magic resistance" and "help newbies" is not roleplay.

Dyluck.
You obviously havent read any of the new things, nor received our private messeges we send out, so, you wouldnt know. But, we have changed this guild's intentions. Rather than your guild where you have to PAY just to take a test, we provide a nice FREE service. Our new intentions:

A) Raise money for our own building.
B) Learn and teach more about magic, and even do some dueling
C) To be able to defend and/or kill something if it is threatening
D) Be able to defend Self.

blindly defending, im not even talking about "powergaming" or whatever your reason for accusing him, it seems like you want the business hes taken from you. it seems like the only reason you would care what his guild does or not. whether his guild is "powergaming" or not is for the mods to decide. They have plenty of ways to find out of this, and if they needed our help i think they would have asked. So dont judge his guild at all. You dont need to try to put other people down just because you think something, tell the mods instead. after all, they are the ones in charge.

@Nilo: Wrong. I never said anything about your new intentions. Gro'bul talked about the old things I said in the thread, so I explained it to him.
Nilo wrote:Rather than your guild where you have to PAY just to take a test, we provide a nice FREE service.

Why are you talking about MY guild again? You obviously haven't learned the lesson from all this. Don't you understand that this is NOT a competition to see who has a "better" guild? This is about teaching YOU to make YOUR guild have legitimate RP reasons and activities so that you stay within in rules. This is about making YOUR guild better, so stop being childish and thinking that you need to insult other people's guilds or compete with them.
Gro'bul wrote:it seems like you want the business hes taken from you. it seems like the only reason you would care what his guild does or not.
@Gro'bul: Have you thought about the fact that the Magic Academy was closed when he started his guild? If I want business I wouldn't have closed it. And the Magic Academy is selective and only allows law abiding, roleplaying characters so we would never have conflicting business because most people who join Nilo's guild would not be the kind of person that gets accepted at the MA anyways.

@Both Nilo and Gro'bul: Obviously I was not the only one who questioned this guild here, even the GM Serpardum did. You're angry only at me because you have an immature attitude where you think if people write long detailed explanations about arguments, then they are somehow "insulting" or "bashing" other people. Well good arguments are not insults. Welcome to a mature discussion. Either that or because you're misguided like Nilo, thinking that just because I have a magic guild, then this is about some competition or comparison. Wake up, this is not about insulting or competing or comparison. Like everyone else who posted criticism here, I was making Nilo aware of his illegitimate and ooc reasons and activities of his guild, only that I explained it in more detail. So stop acting childish about it and recognize that a good detailed argument is intended to make you fully understand your flaws, not some attempt to bash or insult you.

Dont Forget eveyone,
There is a meeting, this saturday. I need everyone to come. We wont necessarily have meetings every saturday, although if you want to , we could.

Each member will be assigned to a teacher, unless i have told you otherwise.

The teachers will guide the students. He is responsible for helping them get any runes they dont have. If that teacher is unable to do so, contact me, and i will generously help.....

What I think we might try, is Everyone can work on their own little spell. To where, all they cast for quite a while is that spell. Then, when we are ready, (which shouldnt take too long.....) we will go to the ogres, where, I will block them, and every student will cast on the two Trolls or Ogres(whichever you call them).

If you have different ideas about all of this, please tell me. I like to hear all of them.

One more thing, and then i willl be done. A friend of mine brought this up. :P If a student were to, for some reason, start widly casting on other students, or, even the teacher, then I would expect that everyoen would probably start casting on him......So, just a warning, that would not be too wise to do that.....

*meeting on Saturday*

@Mishrack-

So far, we have two teachers, possibly three. (the council hasnt voted on one of them yet)

But, so far:
Lenti
Nilo
(and possibly another person, we havnt decided yet)

We havent heard back from a lot of our memebers, so, i dont know what to expect.

I think these few teachers can take on the members we have.

you sure that your `teachers` dont need teaching themselves as its been stated you seem very inexperianced and nilo your magic isnt very impressive im not against your decision to from a academy but i think its to premature at least get to a good standard maybe you should try and enroll at the magic academy.

Please do not use flying letters, it makes the whole site hard to view (it makes it slow). Also, that picture in the title looks strangely familiar...
