Use with is the same as shift clicking, keeping shift down and clicking again.

Its used when you need to USE something with something else; for example if you want to target a particular rock when you're mining, you use the pickaxe, and USE WITH the rock.

and do you use the campfire to cook rabbit and fish?

I've gotten spoons, bowls and plates by trading with carpenters. Yes, you can use a cooking fire (and if there's a crowd sitting around a camp fire, odds are someone would be happy to teach you), you need a bucket of water as well (no plates needed for sausages.
