I would like to help in defending this great city but am inexperienced in weaponry and warfare.
Maybe after more training I could find you around town.

My prefered weapons are warhammers and swords.

you should make a guild instead you should put a message on the guild message board on that wall over there

Salathe points to a nearby wall with many posted papers on it

try there, thats where people go to, to join guilds and such

It would be rather ridiculous, in my opinion, to start another "Let's protect the town" guild. There are far too many out there and joining one never seems to be too difficult these days. As for "recruitment"... I fail to see what people are being recruited for. There is no association mentioned in any of these messages that pertains to an existing, or soon to exist, group.

Sincerely yours,
>Cain

i think you guys shouldn't worry abotu defending the town by invaders, plenty of people are already doing that. What you should do is patrol the town's streets to protect and serve teh citizens of Troll's bane.

Oh please not another guild

we had a guild for everything! I'm sure you could find a guild perfectly suited for a three eyed one legged hobbit if you looked hard enough

seems every newbie starts a new guild, and then just ends up asking for donations to the guild and then keeping the money...

with exceptions to some of course as a lot do mean well.

There are very few three eyed one legged Hobbits left. They are excellent at spotting invading hordes of monsters but really bad at getting away from them.

Ok firstly you have not read my post at all, secondly it is not a new guild, thirdly it is a patrol system, fourthly I can only enforce the towns laws if you wish me to, fifthly I placed it here because it belongs here, sixthly you have not read my post, seventhly YOU HAVE NOT READ MY POST.

Thank you Crocket, I am sure we can train you up, your help is appreciated.

Calm down Guingaland, no need to shout. I am sure everyone has read your post, but the point everyone is trying to make that such an organization as you are trying to form is really not need at this time. The safety of Trollsbane is already in many good hands, one for example being the Order of the Grey Light of which I am a part of. There are many others too many to list! Perhaps, you might take a look around before you undertake this venture further. There are many other needs our town has that you could undertake, but this is not one of them.

Umm.. Why are you starting this? We really dont need town protection. People just gang up and beat the living life out of the threats so I really dont think its a worry.
Oh and I dont think "Firstly" "Secondly" etc... are words at all.

So we wait till such a great force has invaded and destroyed our town first? I see no reason why Guingalan's idea should be turned away. All he is doing is setting up patrols and guards from monster attacks, no other guild I know tries to set these up...

You dont see it happening, Hermie, because it isnt shown. Believe me, this has been tried in the past, and no one ever really makes a change with it. Sure, there are a few people who are around town, but you can't just go without sleep forever. There won't be enough people joining either, so it isn't like you can have a patrol all day long. What about those times where everyone is one half of the town is sleeping, but the other half needs protecting? The half that does patrolling will all be asleep and the other half will have no means of defense besides themselves.

((Kringin, 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' are words of the english language. You are referring to the english language right?))

Hermie, many things are unknown to the public, and many things unseen. Do not be so hasty to assume that there are no great forces at work in regards to the safety of Trollsbane. It has been stated that such a force is not needed at this time because it is the truth. There are already many forces that do this job already...Another one that is possibly inexperienced might only get in the way.

Cain, I know we cant patrol all the time, but there is no harm in patroling when you can, I am sure that whenever patrols are out that they will resist monster attacks.

Elaralith, Guingalan would not take on an inexperienced troop, and therefore would not get in the way. And if there are other unseen 'forces' at work to the safety of Trollbane if they are unseen dont tell me they are there, what is the point of them being unseen? It would only stop them from growing a more effective force, and when dealing with destroying monsters you cant be too effective. There is always the opportunity to better that force.

What I don't understand is that I am trying to help you all, why are you so against it? I have not asked for money from you nor demanded you join. All I wish to do is help you, why do you not like that?

And as for there not being a need now, well good, but setting up in a time of peace means we are ready in a time of war.

I am still curious what you are protecting the town from. But anyway, i would be glad to help you out, under one condition. No three eyed, one legged hobbits in the patrol. They really get on my nerves.
