A quick question about the rotting system

I found an amazing smith who smits all fantastic quality. If I bougt a lot of weapons now will it rot if I leave them in my depot for a few months?

No, decrease in quality will only happen if you use the Item, not if you leave it in your depot.

And it'll rot if you leave it on the floor on in a chest (note: not a depot).

When you drop an item on the ground, can it randomly rot instantly like it used to or it has been fixed? How long does it take for items to rot on ground?

4.4 secs for it to rot completely they say.
