No seriously, I get the general idea that you'd like to be able to look down into a canyon like you can look up to mountains at the moment.

But honestly, wtf is the rest of it about?

How about making negative alteration of the terrain, seen from height of 0, possible.
It would require transparency of 0-Level floortiles.

I had always wished we had something like this. Though, it might take a bit of work to actually get your idea functioning in game.

Wow... you mentioned exactly what I thought

Anyway, canyons would be cool, yes, but an island like Gobiath won't have many would it?
