A dove to the leader of each settlement

From the forest north of the harbor, several doves rise out of the tree canopy and each go their separate ways. One arrives before the leader of each settlement, bearing a letter written in the steady script of an elven hand. After a respectful greeting appropriate to it's addressee, the letter continues as following

I would that my greetings were sent upon more cheerful terms, but that cannot be the case this day. You may or may not have heard of the invasion of Drow upon the island of my kin this month. I wish to confirm these rumors, and also to elaborate the details of their presence in person, if possible. My words are of great importance and contain knowledge of a threat to our lands. If you will allow to meet with me, you need only return this dove with a specified time. I can travel with a translator who speaks the Old Language, if needed.

upon recieving the dove from the elfess, tjalf first breaks it's neck, plucks it, takes out the innards and puts it on a grillspear at the side of the fire.
done with the important part, he opens the letterscroll.
after deciphering letter by letter, what it says, he can be overheard, thinking loud, as is his custom.

"elfess calling on us? - rare..."
*pacing up and down*
"drows are elves too... might be a trap."
*stopping by the table, taking a sip of beer*
"elves don't do us any good..."
*puts back the emty mug*
"at least not in the past"
*resuming his walk around the hall*
"it was them, who turnd our whole armory to metalscrap by witchcraft..."
*goes back to the table, refilling the mug*
"and this elven-plague, that nasty sneeze-sickness - they brought it too..."
*takes another sip*
"can't trust those long-ears...."
*puts back the empty mug*
"but.... there are one or two elves, that are not bad...
anfala for instance... she's stupid, and drove away Eirik, but she's goodhearted and not crooked..."
*inspects the roasting dove*
"... and this saril. honest trading with him, no cheater..."
*paces some more*
"...sure they are just exceptions..."
*squats beside the fire*
"who knows, if this "elder" ain't up to somethin'..."
*starts biting off small bites from the juicy bird*
"but it was a drow, who destroyed our furniture..."
*throws the rests of the bird out through the door*
"think, i'll just wait, if somebody more trustworthy will support that.
i' don't jump evry time a long-ear says: Jump!"
*belches, and refills the mug for another sip*

p.s. I am expecting at least 5 people to declare that the drow must not be as bad as they first seem since they tortured me. Let's see if I'm disappointed.

Upon Arriving to Tol Vanima I spoke with Isilwen of these pressing manners. She assured me she would take care of such matters.
