Three suggestions regarding magic

Post by Llama »

I) Rune Names

Some runes are very hard to work out what they are from the picture. Some are just misleading... "PEN" for example has the symbol of a sun on it...

Some nice "Helpful text" (like in the 'list wares') would be useful.

II) LHOR RA

LHOR RA is the illusion fireball which is one of the first spells a mage learns. It does nothing except explode a fireball which does no damage. Problem is, it wastes A LOT of mana (over 50% of the mana bar in the beginning). For a spell used 'only' by new mages... it should be reduced.

III) Intelligent Spell Resistance

Yesterday a person casted a spell on me, and I resisted and sent it back. Problem was, it was a HEALING spell. Spell resistance should automatically 'turn off' if its a friendly spell...

Bullsh**, PEN the rune of mind has a big eye on it, MES has the sun on it. And if you hover your mouse over it you'll see what it is, plus you can just ask in class if these things bother you.

Not necessarily one of the first you learn, you never have to touch LHOR tbh but you were in the old academy. And the mana bar depends on your equipment too, e.g. it's minimal for me. However, I agree strongly on this point. I think the reason it was put up originally was because of LHOR pging, but I don't think this is a problem any longer.

Kevin was wearing metal armour, it is nothing to do with your resistance. His skill is so very bad that with armour on he can't cast a spell which requires 0% skill. e.g. if you try and cast, for instance, MES PEN SIH later on, or any "harder" spell for that matter, at first because your skill is only just good enough to cast it, it is hit back to you. This happens with any spell, it's nothing to do with resistance it's to do with the fact that every creature has a certain effect against magic. e.g. golems cannot be affected by magic. Even the weakest creatures against magic still have a tiny boost which means that any spell cast at them will be returned to you. If he really wants the first skill he must scrap his armour for the time being.

And another point:

I'd like to see JUS TAUR KEL without a casting time :P

???

The anti-paralysis spell? I don't remember that happening, but if it did this was simply because my transformo isn't exactly fantastic.

I think that 'time duration' can be changed from the options.
