Small Suggestions
Suggestion Number 1:
Now that we only have one place with Troll's Bane Depot (Troll's Bane) and most new players start out in Trolls Bane, if a newbie runs into a open portal (which are rather uncommon these days, but can still happen) he will have no money in the depot of the town that he has been teleported to. If he has all his money in the Troll's Bane depot then tough luck, he's walking. How about you add 30 coppers to every non Troll's Bane Depot for every new character? Just encase instances like this happen.
Suggestion Number 2:
The ability to actually post parchments, advertisements and other written materials on certain sections/areas of towns or other areas of the isle.
Using Parchment and ink (both pretty much useless items right now), and a hammer and some nails you can post parchments on the walls and whatnot. It will be a great way to advertise certain things such as guilds and market events. It could also be for bounties and wanted posted for men or banned criminals.
Suggestion Number 3: Different Avatars -
The current avatars for the races are so plain and old that I almost want to puke every time I look at them. Illarion isn't about avatars and they don't play a huge role in the rp of the game, but a 5 star visual appeal rating on any game is a good thing to have. I am sure that there are plenty of graphical people out there that play this game that would help in making some new avatars (this suggestion is more the orginial five avatar races, because the other three are all basically new,). Tis worth a try.
Thanks,
PO Julius

1) Sounds allright 30 copper won't hurt anyone
2) Sounds nice aswell, but I fear that they either get vandalised or ripped or if you can't rip them others will complain.

2.) different appearance for characters: changing race, gender etc will displayed instantly. Different charsizes, see on the color of the name which type of weapon the character uses (Bow, Melee, wand) if he wears it in the hand. ....
1) not that easy, but its possible. Guess that wouldn't hurt the game.
2) Technically impossible since its not possible to store text written in the game. You can only store really short texts ( the longest length technically possible is used at the bag. 8 characters or something )
3) Avatars are a real problem due our lag of good graphic makers. Exspecially we lag of someone who is able to create good humanlike persons and animate them.
Its in work to "scale" the avatars by the heigth setted in the database. But a long term target would be to make at least a simple kind of paperdolling. So as different hair colors, different skin colors and the possibility to see what the character wears ( armor / shirt / nothing
)
But that takes some time. To make just one or two new characters for each race that look slightly different ( what would went much faster i think ) is not that usefull spended time and won't gibt us 5 stars

Re: Small Suggestions
Not true. Ink can be used to sign textbooks and make them reusable, and parchment can be used to make spell-scrolls which cast spells upon use AFAIK.Julius wrote:Using Parchment and ink (both pretty much useless items right now)

I think that your understanding of graphics isn't really good actually.Julius wrote:Suggestion Number 3: Different Avatars -

I'd love to have someone redoing them for several reasons, however, as it seems I am the only person around to be able to do that. And that didn't really change for years. So no, there are NOT plenty of "graphical people" out there who would like to spend weeks of work without getting paid to redesign new avatars. Sorry to let reality jump into your face.

Would it be possible to write text (with ink and some kind of writing feather) on pergaments? Eight characters is not much, but could be enough for real short messages (although it could also introduce some kind of SMS style).Nitram wrote:2) Technically impossible since its not possible to store text written in the game. Well, actually back in the 1930's and around that common area of time, when people used telegraphs the more letters they used the more it expensive it was. They would make little messages, similar to the cell phone and leet/computer languages today to convey messages. A lot of them under eight characters of text. If you had a few papers you were giving to someone, it wouldn't be that bad of a feature.
8 characters,..Julius wrote:Sure, but how is it different? The telegrams were primitive and that's just an example.
Btw: I'm not saying that the parchment system could have computer languages on it, but a form of it.

THAT is how much 8 charcters is
"HELP ME" is 7 characters for example
It wont be very useful IMHO
