face expressions in illarion :)

Post by Kringin »

Hey we could have face expressions in Illarion and would be pretty nice. It is roleplaying and to show expressions makes it better. For Example crying, mad, bored, blank face, embarrased, "how pathetic" face etc.

No they are not smilies that would just ruin it.

Maybe in the future there could be better made or drawn expressions for each race maybe even with animations.

Have a nice day. :D

I don't think it's nessicary, typing "#me frowns at __" or "#me smiles" or "#me turns red" are just as good, if not better.

I too do not think it is necessary to have "emoticons" in illarion. The current #me functions are much better as they allow a player to write creatively and they also describe a character's expressions in a more detailed manner if done well than face expressions ever would. Personally I find face expressions used in illarion right now annoying. Symbols like ":)" etc. etc. Having drawn face expressions would make it worse I believe. The only problem that needs to be addressed concerning expression functions right now in illarion is the fact that sometimes when someone does a #me expression it appears to another person far away as someone shouting the #me expression.

For the past two weeks I had to survive an Roleplay by using only #me does such and such a thing.
By the end of the week I was becoming so creative with them (in my opinion) that everybody could guess what I was trying to say, just by my actions.

To provide with more detail, what I meant was that the emotioncal face picture remains above your head for a few seconds or remove it when you want to.
