Bull Sh** I spend hours of time just wasting away in Trollsbane when I am online, or I am very near it so I can keep checking up on it, when I play Richard. I only go like three times a week now to actually get some serious training in, on ogres, trolls, or gnolls. And I am only there for a short time before I am back in Trollsbane, so do not generalize about the guards because the job sucks but Richard does it. I do not even play my other characters that much since I spend so much time in Trollsbane lol.abcfantasy wrote:If a 'guard' logs in, walks around Troll's Bane and finds no role play, he/she will log out, or move out of the town to train.
We can't have these 'guards' to stand in the town for hours just...'guarding'.
Where have all the bad guys gone?

complete crapKundra wrote:I’ll tell you where the ‘bad’ guys have went, they pissed off because of all the ooc moaning that the ‘good’ guys where tired, and all upset how it interferes with ‘their’ rp when basically they are moaning because they live in some dreamland where the good guys should ALWAYS prevail and when they don’t catch them, or the ’bad’ guy gets the upper hand it instinctively gets branded as bad rp “Oh no, something is not right here! I am a guard therefore I should win WAAA!!!WAAA!!..
And also possibly because everyone wants to be a hero and step in when their trying to do their thing, b it a PO of child or old man... The PO good guys should get a grip and realise that illa is a multiplayer game and not everyone has to play by their stinking rules.. it should be even-spread.
As for the whole no bandits or thieves in town - what a load of crap…is it not possible that they can disguise themselves in robes or hoods? Well you would think so but it seems as though the guards have some sort of x-ray vision as they don’t care for attention to detail and go for them anyway. As far as I see it the PO good guys are poor rp’ers and no better than all of these one day ‘noob‘ thieves as you call them, because if they had any form of ability to actually step ‘into character’ in a middle-earth style surrounding with weapons so easily purchased and realising the dangers that will appose them instead of taking it so personally ooc , villains MAY get somewhere if anywhere. But because there’s so much of these remarkable/untouchable ’good’ guys that everyone seems to adore so much they give themselves false credit where it isn’t due.
Just look at the situation with the temple dissapearance.. ”WAA!!WAA!!!” *mother gm steps in* “Its ok, those baddy waddies wont hurt you anymore..” *No bad guys* “YEEEEYYY!!””
Edit: fear not as i 4-c the 'bad' guys coming back with avengance
(keep in mind this doesn’t apply to all of them. ex. po Grivijak rocks and his badys are well played)
Guards can not win these days. Imagine being able to physically defeat the bandits alright....now with that imagine knowing that even if all your hours of "training" to become this strong you will basically never have the satisfaction of putting away the criminals. I have discovered if you beat them they drink potions. If you chase them with 4+ other people they will always decide not to get caught. If you attempt to #me restrain them they will bust out some lightning fast dodging in there ole heavy armor. Reasons like this is why there are so few willing to put up with it. Richard said himself he believe bandits quite because they are not challenged. I am sure it is unchallenging when his oppositions role play is apparently determined by how often they let a bandit off the hook without complaining.
As for the whole temple ordeal...we assembled an army in Greenbriar with 15 or more folks. After clouding Grant for ig stupidity we attacked Hell briar. it was posted on the quest page days before it took place. Retlak was blasted unto clouding by Samantha and <unnamed person> stayed inside the place shouting something on the lines of "the place is magic and you cant hurt us, go home!". Apparently the gms didn’t agree with this Rp decision of hell briars magic protection and did away with it soon after.
I am fully to blame for not letting you in. I am also to blame for not clouding all of you. It was either keep you out or kill you with undead. We had those choices. As for the whole temple ordeal...we assembled an army in Greenbriar with 15 or more folks. Nalzaxx had been banned the DAY BEFORE your attack on us. He was RP banned. Alright, GMs take our leader then we are attacked by an army. Coincidence? Maybe.... Regardless, we were mad. My character told the other temple members to leave. They all left and my character was there alone. During all of this..... I was cursed at and had some remarks made to my self and others. OOC remarks that is.
Oh yeah, I made up the magical barrier thing

It is true the whole Temple scattered. Of course there was only like 5 or 6 people there. If we had had the full force of the Temple we would have crushed you all! I just wanted to say that there is always expected to be ooc conflict between these two factions. As a players duty they are to do there best to properly carry out the role of there character. A bandits purpose is to: *typically* cause havoc, live for self satisfaction, and do all they can to refrain from getting caught. A guard on the other hand is *typically* there to: oppose those that cause havoc, put themselves last as they strive to protect and serve, incarcerate criminals. Very few people admit defeat where upon loosing on the combat side of the game though they should and even fewer work together with opposing forces ooc which also they should. So as I said the way things currently are conflict is unavoidable. I personally would be thrilled if I was contacted ooc and was offered to arrange a scene with a criminals with predetermined agreements such a, should one of us back down or cloud we are to injured enough to enforce guard duty for the next month or *flip side* willingly play unconscious enough to be jailed or something similar.

edit* the resistance sounds a bit exaggerated there brother. About a month prior I had a char of mine admitted into the temple named Rexgan Shadetree and even though I didn’t get to play with most of the temple his shady mute self was in it. On the day of the attack I was planning on actually playing him because I figured the rp would be more interesting on the side of the falling temple. I Logged in on him that day and I didn’t really see anything similar to what you described though I did see how someone covered all the tiles in the room with the depot with single copper coins.

Unknown: Good duel.. hey wtf!? Z0mg!
D kills them.
D gives them back their stuff at the cross.
Unknown thinks 'That was a complete waste of time' IRL.

The problem og both guards and bandits/thieves is that Illairon is too small. The soloution for the guards (I would say) is to stay online with a char who is more fun on a regular basis, and then log in with the guard as problem shows up. Just rp him standing guard all day (you dont rp taking a shit break either)
Also maybe the good guys and evil guys could plan a little in advance. This wont work as long as the good char players hate the evil char players for being evil char players though...
Illa is not a Hollywood movie. Good side doesnt have to win.

I can see the different points.. if it is so much fun to play a bad guy... then apparently it is not as fun to play a good guy? Maybe that should be addressed? Although when my chars got robbed, I had a pretty good time.
Yes, I filled the room with coins. I was bored. We all were talking to each other via whispering before your character even got there. I do not recall seeing you. Perhaps you were in the side hall. Never the less. My account was given of what I saw. And to my knowledge, I was the only one in the temple during the entire attack. I had been sitting there since before the rally even happened in Greenbriar. Was there for hours that day...sitting in the temple a good 6-7 I would say.Taliss Kazzxs wrote:*typically*

ROFL I robbed you Mofo! Thats right it was the perfect crime I did it and you never knew you thought they just disappeared. Muahahahaha!Lrmy wrote:Yes, I filled the room with coins. I was bored. Yeah, they tried to tag me once as well. I only saw them that one time and once in the Grey Rose.Retlak wrote:They were two bandit leaders that kept beating and robbing people.
I think they may also be the two that tried to attack my char once if i am correct, which wasn't a good idea since i have yellow powergaming skill.
