Erm... I think this is talked about in another thread, but the other thread is German... So.. uhm... I have this problem. I cannot get my signature to work, no matter what I do... I've tried toggling it on and off between posts and such... but my signature just wont show up... its under 255 characters.. I know because I counted... Help me if you can, please.

The people who run the form disabled signatures for some reason.

I'd like to know WHY he disabled the signatures. I don't see any advantages, other than stopping people from putting large pictures in their signatures.

Oh... I must have missed that one... I'm tired I guess :D Well... that really bites.... why in the heck would you disable the signatures? I liked having one. It made it that much easier to sign my name at the end.. Gee.. that isnt powergaming is it? :D sorry, bad joke I know. Anyways, Thanks for the info.

Yours,

I do not see any real advantage in disabling the signatures.
Disabling avatars would perhaps have more positive effect...

Maybe it's because some people put a lot of non-roleplay related rubbish in their signature so it makes the rpg board look bad.

Hallo

do you see any real advantage in enabling the signatures expect to let you have more to scroll down while reading a thread or have to ignore the ingame text here and the ooc text on the rpg board?

to disable the avatars hmm i think this is something the forum admins should think about it
i dont have a problem with the avatars because i have here only to hit one button when i should get annoyed by them and i dont see here any picture. :)

I think that some of the avatars and signatures added some humour and colour to the boards, instead of seeing the same depressing shade of blue everywhere.

Why sign your name at the end, when it is already displayed to the left? This is redundant (and therefore useless, annoying) data.

When you write on a scroll of paper in the old times, do you usually sign your name BESIDE your message and then proceed to draw a little picture? No, that is not fitting with an RPG environment. After all, why were all the graphics changed for the boards? The answer is simple, to make it fit in more. So why the sudden change?

I remember an 'El Diablo' had a sigature that was more like something from a trashy chat room, went something like:
Hey any hot females wanna chat with a (a/s/l) pm me .... and so on, it was rather depressing ...

@Captain Kirk Some bad RPers and annoying people missed the signature functions and continue to misuse the avatar functions...that is true! But there are others that use those options for good RP and it is very helpful for such people. I myself am disappointed to see the loss of the signature functions. Why should this loss affect us all among who there are those that use it well?

Would a vote topic be locked if we made one?

I'm sure it would be... this is turning sadistic...

Mods vs. the community...

Should be interesting.

Too bad polls are disabled too...

About large avatars, Erdrick's proves my point. At 10kb, it is about three times the size of a normal avatar. This in my mind is the same as others who abuse their avatars. More problems come from avatars than the signatures!

The board says it has to be under 10 KB, and it is.
The board allows pictures just like this one, and therefore, I shall use it.

EDIT: I shrank the picture a bit. It went down about a KB...

Hallo

just read about the signatures and polls and so on -> here

@avatar size
yes 10 kB but max size 80 x 100 pixel
it seems a to be a bug that the board doesnt resize the avatars to the max size.

I completely agree with Elaralith. Just because of a few who do not understand the rest of us are punished.

It is unfair that the rest of us have to 'suffer' but I dont see it al that bad, it never really did much .. sorta lik the avatars, I can live without them, its just nice to have them there...
