After walking away from that unsettling meeting in the tavern, Ayla had at first planned to head to the workshop, to the campfire, somewhere safe and quiet. Her head was throbbing again and her nerves had been shot due to something about that man she had met. With a quiet groan, the elfess came to a slow stop before the dying embers setting in that familiar campsite, standing before one of the old logs. Her heart... It was racing for an inexplicable reason. Had she really been spooked that bad by just another crazy man? Something had startled her, that was all. With a quiet groan, the elfess steps lightly around one log and drops down onto the rough bark, looking to the fire briefly. Cursing lightly under her breath, she draws her knees up close and rests her elbows on them, hiding her face in her hands.
The headache was worsening again. Gods curse it, she should have grabbed that paste of Achae's... Achae.. She needed to talk to her. The didn't finish discussing that book. Achae, she had known something about that book and Ayla really wanted to know more.
Slowly leaning back after a moment, Ayla let her eyes close as a hand raised to rub the back of her neck, pain across her face. It was all just too damn confusing for her. Coming back from that Gods-damned war, general problems in.. life, now this curse and that man that spoke as if he were different people! She could feel herself getting absorbed in stuff she should have never meddled in to begin with.
It didn't help that she felt as if she hadn't seen Jorokar.. Or anyone else, at that point, in ages. Was she actually afraid to face him anymore? It wasn't her fault, surely. But perhaps it was. She was being a coward again. With a quiet groan, Ayla let her hand drop away as her pained gaze returned to the fire. Oh, how wonderful a normal life would be, with all of its mundane glory. With another grimace, Ayla mumbled shortly to herself.
"By the Gods, I'm pathetic..."

Trying to find the cause of Ayla's headache's, being worried of the number of them, Achae was curious about the book mentioned. It seemed everytime Ayla tried to read the book, her headaches worsened and Achae was anxious to see the book that caused this. Remembering when Ayla first showed it to her, she had reached her hands out cautiously to touch it running her finger lightly across the title of it, but her eyes had blurred and the words appeared to be jumbled. Frowning slightly in her concentration, thinking it was maybe the bright sun causing the start of a headache with her, she arranged to see Ayla later to talk more of it after handing it back to her.
Having taken a tea with some paste in it for the headache she could not seem to be able to get rid of, and feeling much better after her sleep, she looks around at the empty hospital and sighs "Good, all seems to be well and not need a medico... at least for now". She reaches for her cape that was draped over a chair and throwing it on quickly, closes the hospital door, then turns looking at the emptiness of the grounds "Now what?" Deciding just to go for a walk around the town, she passes the Seahorse and curiously looks in the workshop then walks toward the Shelter wondering if anyone was there and needing any help. Glancing at the campfire and seeing an elfess sitting on the log, she walks closer as her curiousity is aroused, then seeing Ayla a warm smile comes over her face "Hello, again! Do you mind a little company? "

...A sunny day in Briar.....Clouds whisking by with a soft breeze.....fields of grain flowing like waves of the ocean by the breeze....grinding a keen edge to my favorite Scythe at the grindstone.......Feeling the edge, sharp, ready to Harvest........
Suddenly, a jerking on the legs as 'Patch' wakes up and discovers some fool of a man carrying a carrot tripped over where he lay near the door. The man lay sprawled upon the ground, speechless for a moment, his carrot lay broken and scattered upon the ground.
Patch rubbed his eyes and saw that there were also two elves nearby at a campfire. Yawning, he stretched his arms a little, as the man composed himself slowly.
"Dunno' where tha fire is lad, but ye may wanna' watch where yoo put yer feet next time, eh?" Patch said in a slow, rural accent, with a friendly grin on his face.
