Greetings everyone,

I'm a new player to Illarion and have had a great time getting to know the players by reading the forums. I find that reading the forums is normally a good way to get an idea of the kinds of folk who play this game and what the atmosphere is like.

Just to give you all some background I'm a Sheriff and am going in to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Academy (RCMP) in Regina Saskatchewan very shortly. I have decided to get into an on-line game as I won't have much time to role-play while in Regina and will have to satisfy my RPing urges in an on-line forum.

Much of what I have read here is positive. The idea of having the RPing apsect of the game at the fore front appeals to me greatly. I have also noted that as with all groups of people there will always be detractors and those with "strong" opinions by they seem to be in the minority.

Anyway, I look forward to RPing with all of you, and if you have any advice for me of course I will probably be lurking in the Newbie forum for a while. Also, as a Sheriff and Police Officer, I was thinking about the idea of starting a town watch IG. Not sure if it's been done or even plausible, but it would be fun to try.

Welcome to Illarion and the messed up isle called Gobaith!

Just to let you know, this forum is actually baised off of a on-line game. www.illarion.org has the game you can download so you can play. Most of what happens is ig and not on the forum. The forum just makes it easier for us to spread word or rp events that have happened ig or haven't.

There are a few town guards you can join ig, but you will have to find them on your own or by use of the forum. There are also two knighthoods ig you can join. (And people are going to bitch at me for mentioning that). Feel free to join what ever group or guild you wish, or not even join one at all.

Good luck on Illa and I can't wait to see you get started ig. Welcome again!

Look arround carefully in Gobaith, cause there are already so many possibilities to do and to join and to become..

As long as you RP well, you will go a far way, and become an addict like we are..

play all groups at arm's length, till you know more about them.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Its appreciated. I have been role-playing for 25 years so I definately bring a large amount of gaming experience and maturity with me. So there should be no worries about me spoiling the verisimilitude of the game for anyone. I am still reading through the history and story of the gods and of course all of the races.

I'm not new to the on-line idea of gaming however as I used to play Ultima Online many years ago. I left that game due to the lack of professionalism of the staff and the absence of any true role playing.

So anyway, again, thank you so much for the hearty well met aand I definately look forward to bringing my character to Illarion.

Hey, welcome to Illarion!

Even though I login rather rarely nowadays (As a result of testing and such), I really enjoy this game. It is good to see that more mature roleplayers are also joining the game, and I think you will be a wonderful addition to our family. This community is very much indeed like a family, and, as any family, we have our occasional odd balls

(Like me). Don't let this discourage you from making new friends here, however, as most of the players here are very wonderful people who can grow to become close friends.

I hope you enjoy your stay in Illarion, I'm sure you will be a wonderful addition to the game.
