New Crafting System Imbalances

Post by Juniper Onyx »

Umm....

Is it just me, or has suddenly everyone wants to be a smith. During the time I was making some 50 arrows, I heard no less than three people in town looking for Ores.

I know smithing is the most profitable profession IG now, but can we be a little less obvious about it? Everywhere I look, people are buying coal Ores, Iron Ores and even paying 10 coppers each for Ingots!

It seems we still have some 'tweaking' to do before the other crafts become popular again.

Any ideas, or observations?

Everyone though also wants dye... all the smiths. However, some material for it is very, very hard to get unless fairly highly skilled and also when it is not winter. I was also curious because I have been asked and could before.... can any potions be made?

Your right I need to offer more to outbuy all those n00bs. I think once people see how much time its going to really take their fighter to be able to make that "uber-armor" they will give up and just buy it. Besides, good time for suppliers right now isn't it?

i don't think so.
if there are too much weapons and armours on the market, the prices will go down. then some smiths will change profession, and prices will go up again. it is that simple.

and the other crafts work with the same mecanism.
as long, as every craft has some products, other crafters or clients need, not provided by NPCs, everything will work out on demand and offer.

Just to add some insight. I like that armors are more expensive in game now. It is MUCH more realistic. Medieval armors were the price of houses in some cases and only worn by few on the battle field.

Damien had better not comment with his inferior knowledge.

Yeah, I have to admit that's true. In fact, only Nobility and their Knights could even afford it. (BTW-wouldn't be great if we could get horses too?)

I find that the amount of wool I can get from one sheep to be...unusual. I mean, come on, in one sitting I got 101 pieces of wool from one sheep. Is that even possible?

Oh! You must have met 'Fluffy'!

Seriously though, 101 pieces seems like a lot, but you consider that when sheep are 'sheared' they produce a whole 'blanket-sized' piece that could easily make 100 balls of wool, so yeah, it's still within possibility.

Does it matter toooo much if you can get lots of wool from a sheep? And think about all the stuff in the game that are not possible. A lot of thinking wasn't it?
