[REFUSED]torzoll/gatetoll
wouldn't it be a good idea, to charge toll for entering a walled town?
as was usual in medieval times?
tecnically it could be realised with the same script, that is used for teleporters.

Estralis,
well, it would be simple.
a closed door inside a gatehouse. on the field in front of the door a teleporter (without any special graphics)
entering the char has to say "enter" or something similar, gets charged the fee.
he will be teleported on the other side of the door.
leaving town the same, just without fee.
i don't think, that a town, that charges would be deserted necessarily.
that would depend in great part on the amount of fee to be paid.
we are entering times of specialisation. a town, that offers something, others do not have, would be visited anyhow.

This would probably get frustrating to some players, if they had to pay every time they wanted to go into town. What if there was an attack or something? *screaming mob lines up at the toll booth*
How about...a night toll? A lot of towns would have closed their doors after a certain hour, and opened them the next morning. This was done to prevent unwanted visitors that usually liked to sneak in when no one was looking, such as thieves

So everyone at a certain GMT gets screwed over? I can only get online at times when it's night on illarion.Narmir wrote:This would probably get frustrating to some players, if they had to pay every time they wanted to go into town.
