I concur with Dyluck.

And when it is very rar. Its more dangerous than if it is not.
Then you have a hand of people wearing a armor that nobody can passing through.

Yes we need a new metal, iron is getting old and boring.

Reduce and balance the power of Iron if you have to.

Have a nice day. :D

@ Elaralith I don't ever remember saying anything about NOT wanting a new metal or anything about the hardness of skills. All I said was that a new metal would be good, but it would be better to have a skill system for smithing that better fit the real life aspect of the game. After all you can say it isn't ridiculas that someone can learn how to make a sword by smithing shields or the other way around.

I am tired of people seeing something in one popular film then people thinking that whenever it's mentioned it's related to that film. Just like the retards who think John Woo copied the Matrix, BULL, John Woo did all the gun fighting stuff BEFORE the Matrix! I think this is a good idea, and not because I saw it on a darn FILM!

I thinketh many of you suffer from a terrible illness. That illness is called IGNORANCE! Do you think that Tolkien woke up one day and decide, "Hmm... I like the names elf and dwarf. Let me go make a book." No! Has any of you ever heard of Beowulf or the Irish lore, Scottish lore, German lore, etc.?! Where did he get his inspiration?!!
So anyway, i don't think making an all powerful armour would be good. For all you of the played Runescape, do you remember Rune armour? Everyone had it and it became useless. Thats what would happen eventually with an ultra strong metal.

How about a new metal with a new name? Instead of caling it Mithral we could call it (insert name here :) )

I actually know the myth that developed the first concept of elves, dwarves, etc. Its part of Celtic Mythology. I should know this since I am in a mythology class :D

Don't forget norse, but, do you see my point? Tolkien didn't just decide to make this up for loTR. And i have done various reports on celtic mythology, but i loved the leprechauns the best. They should make leprechauns in Illarion!

@Paul Laffing Leprechauns? The illarion staff plan on creating that race for illarion...under a different name - fairies - but basically the same idea.

Leprechauns are basically the same idea as fairies. Look it up! Leprechauns come from Irish myth, while fairies I believe are from English myth.

Idea!!!

Post by Figleaf »

Ok theres a steel i read about in a book about Medival times called Watered Steel It's supposed to be a good deal stronger than regular steel and stays sharper. This could be used on all manor of weapons such as swords, axes, tips for arrows, anything sharp and metal. Perhaps we could have this for a metal in the game because the metal was an actual metal used for wepons in the past not a fictional item.

Might I just add, Norse mythology is full of dwarves, and therefore good.
Any othermythology out there that contains dwarves?
