I actually like the smaller groups better, even if it does mean that less people get to participate. When the quest depends on roleplay as I intended, smaller groups usually work out better and it is a lot easier to concentrate. Large crowds of people leave you either trying to read what everyone says, or just focusing on a few people

Nice idea behind the Quest. Can't comment on the Quest itself, since Sil was one of those guarding the town gates. Well, but here I have a proposal to make things work a bit better in future:

Since there were several attacks on town before and then there was the (GM-)proclamation/information that Troll's are gathering around the woods, Troll's Bane mobilized all people in town at that moment to Guard the Town. It was nice atmosphere in terms of waiting for something to happen. Unfortunatley nothing happened at all.
This is a bit frustrating for those who do not play 'the heros' to explore what is really going on in the deep woods of the Trolls.
So, all we did was waiting for something to happen, and waiting for respond of the explorers (Lucien, Aleytys, Cawdor). I had the feeling that it took ages to get respond and I must admit that in the end I was close to write the GMs a message to say that something must happen soon - otherwise people who expected something to happen, won't help any more in future, when there only is the danger of something to happen.

However, it is quite difficult to have two GM-locations then (the woods and the town gates), but in a way I think that you should have cared more for those people at the town gates. Well, I do not speak of any attack by monsters, but just something to support the atmosphere. Maybe some weather effects, darkness, some flashes, some GM-messages that we hear a growl from the Troll's woods or that there seems to be shadow walking to the town... however, anything to make the people remind that they are part of the quest in any way and that they are not 'forgotten'.

Well, if you want to make a Quest with a few people, then please do not alarm 20 other people and make them think that something will happen. On the one hand this is a bit disappointing for the players waiting there (well done that there really stayed so many!), on the other hand this could lead in future to the situation that players will not wait for anything to happen, but all will run to the woods - without caring for adequate ig-behaviour.

However, seemed to be a nice quest - thanks for the efforts!

I am off now for the weekend. ciao

Oh, I think you understand me wrong. I didn't mean more Chars in generell, but more druids of the forest and we are not so much

I didn't get word of it until it was almost over, I would have liked to have participated though.

In this Point I agree with Siltaris. PO Cawdor has the idea to look at the Trolls as well, so he and Aleytys starting active.. but it was hard to wait and watching, even close to the happening and then return to the people at the gates, informing and so on..
And in the End they all following the druids and I am really glad that no one make the Ctrl/click ...

Could have become a very cloudy day with Ctrl-Click. These huge high quality troll clubs can bash the hell out of people with un-trollish attributes :P
That wasn't the plan anyhow.
But think of it that way : People guarding the town walls united. Perhaps prepared and trained. Is that better than the usual daily business without events or not ?
Without the broadcasts of active trolls, it wouldn't have had the same atmosphere.

I believe I used the term 'hunting', thankfully you didn't seem to take that on board, calling it observation.

The small part I saw was good.

Well the plan was that when we are ready, we come to the town, as Ava gave you the hint, but since the preparing of the place took longer than expected, a player found us so we had to play along. I suggested to go to Bane because I knew that people are expecting us but since the players already left to bring the druids, we had to wait there.
Anyway, as I was saying to PO Aleytys, I am amased that all went smoothly and there was not even one random ctrl+click, even when the trolls were provoking the humans.
Sorry that we made you wait for nothing, but you'll have to understand that when working with people, not everything goes as you plan :D

@Siltaris: Yeah, as said, we had planned to go to TB to start the quest, but a group of about 6 players found us early while we were preparing so we decided to start. Sorry you were kept waiting!
