The Election for Governeur // Die Wahl des Governeurs

Ladys and gentlemen.

The vote for Governeur will start in 1 month at the 15. of Tanos ((1 RL week, means next week wednesday)). The votes can be given at voting boxes in the library. Just citizens are allowed to vote. Those citizens on the list who doesnt vote will have their names erased from the citizenlist.

Until that time all the candidates have still the possibilitys to advertise for themself as governeur. The candidates have the possibility to buy banners for themself which will advertise them with their name and also a message on them. 1 Banner costs 5 Silver, and the candidate can decide where to put them. The money for the banners will become part of the town treasury.

Also everyone who isnt a citizen yet can become one and take part in the vote.
Citizens can just those become who are not already citizens of a town or member of a dangerous group, and who are not searched for crimes they committed. If you wish to become a citizen and vote for governeur send me a dove and/or meet me in Trollsbane.

Die Wahl zum neuen Governeur wird in einem Monat am 15. Tanos ((1 RL woche, heisst Mittwoch nächste woche)) ihren Höhepunkt in der Stimmenabgabe finden. Die Stimmen werden in Wahlurnen welche in der Bibliothek aufgestellt werden abgegeben. Nur eingetragene Bürger dürfen Wählen. Jene Bürger die nicht wählen werden von der Bürgerliste gestrichen.

Die drei Kandidaten haben noch bis zum Wahlgang die Möglichkeit für sich zu werben. Sie können dafür sogar Banner bei der Stadt erstehen welche ihren Namen sowie einen Schriftzug welcher für sie wirbt tragen. Für 5 Silber pro banner können sie ein Banner an einem von ihnen gewünschten Ort aufstellen. Das Geld geht in die Staatskasse.

Nur eingetragene Bürger dürfen Wählen. Doch haben alle welche noch keiner stadt oder Siedlung angehören und nicht für Verbrechen gesucht werden die Möglichkeit sich bis zum Beginn der Stimmabgabe als Bürger eintragen zu lassen. Hierfür schreiben Interessierte bitte an mich, und/oder treffen mich in Trollsbane.

Dear citizens of Troll’s Bane, dear folks of Gobiath,

In the last weeks and month I was forced to see how the situation in Troll’s Bane went worse and worse due to the complete absence of the Governor as well due to his inability to set up appropriate laws for the town. Fortunately, in the end the Governor did the best thing he could do in such a situation – he resigned.

Since I have joined the Town Guard of Troll’s Bane, I gave all my efforts for doing this job the best way I can. Many criminals have been imprisoned due to the actions of the Guard, the Magistrate and allies of Troll’s Bane.
Since I have been the Captain of the Guard, I had more competences and thus was able to find more allies for the Guard and for Troll’s Bane. Unfortunately, the current unclear laws made it impossible to really make visible progress in these issues.

However, now, with the elections for a new Governor of Troll’s Bane, I finally see the opportunity for Troll’s Bane to make huge progress on its way to a safe and glory future. I want to continue and intensify the actions I have begun as Captain. I need the competences of the Governor of Troll’s Bane to be really efficient and effective in these issues to bring Troll’s Bane forward, to make it a better place.


That is why I ask you, citizens of Troll’s Bane to give your vote to me.
That is why I ask you, the people of Gobiath to trust me so you will see Troll’s Bane in future as a reliable and strong town in the centre of Gobiath, where peace, freedom and honor are at home.



The actions I will do, if you, the citizens of Troll’s Bane, allow me to become the Governor of Troll’s Bane are:

- The very first thing I will do is to establish fair, reliable, reasonable, effective and efficient laws. The times where it was difficult to see what the current law might be will be over then.
- I will renew the relations to other towns and Guilds of Gobiath to find allies and friends. Troll’s Bane is the town in the centre of Gobiath and thus needs to have good relations to the other territories and kingdoms.
- I will set up a strong Guard, which will care for the town, following the clear laws of the town. In near future the Town of Troll’s Bane will be avoided by criminals, because they will fear the Guard which would wait for them there.
- I will care for the feeling of living in a community by organising markets, festivals and gatherings. Troll’s Bane will not only be a safe place, but a place where people enjoy living and spending their time.
- There will be no taxes for citizens ever as long as I will be Governor. I cannot tell you the way the government will get the money in detail yet, because it is still in planning. But be sure that the town of Troll’s Bane will have enough money to do what is needed.
- I will create a new and well-structured board for the Town of Troll’s Bane, where all the issues mentioned here and many more will be explained in a clear way, so it is easy for everyone to inform yourself on your own.

So I ask you, the citizens of Troll’s bane to give you vote to me. I am citizens of Troll’s Bane for three years now, and in this time all I did was to make it a better and safer place. I always have and always will serve for peace and justice.

I'm not out to waste anyone's time with extra reading. So, unlike Skaalib, I will not spend half my parchment telling you why not to vote for others, or to spend a great deal of time making wonderful promises without giving any idea on "how" it will get accomplished. I will tell what I do have answers for, and wait on the things I cant answer "how" to until (hopefully) later.

You could also spend time complaining about how I declared myself a King in the past, when in reality I served the same time of an elected governor and turned it swiftly back to the old system.

On to real issues:

-Care for the town. The citizen list has it's fair share of people who are gone or not around much. Those who are either don't join the citizen list, or live elsewhere. Care for the main town on the island is at an all time low. The obvious way to combat this is by taking a path to have people care again.
How?
People tend to care about where they live, when they have a stake in where they live. A more efficient policy for land acquisition and building is the key to that. Ways of acquiring land for free if the owner can prove they are working to gain materials, and to construct sometime in the future. Perhaps incentives for those who wish to make non-residential buildings/businesses.

-The guard was so inactive until recent that improving it initially would be very easy. From there, improving it over the long run would be the hard part.
How?
The question of paying guards is out in terms of money. But not all is lost, perhaps a trade deal could be implemented with blacksmiths, Trollsbane could provide something, and in return we could gain weapons and armor to give to guards freely, as a form of "payment" for service.

I have a simple goal of giving Trollsbane as much as lizardly possible without taking any money from any people within. Trollsbane is in a period of "what now?" There is much uncertainty on the island, I think we can all feel it in some sense. In times like these experimentation, change, and new ideas are needed. Fooser, master of innovation, is clearly the perfect fit!

I am truly interested in this election aswell, for I will have to send a peace treaty to the new governor, king, queen, dictator, wichever you choose to be. I am no citizen of Troll's Bane, but if my vote as a leader of New Zzyathis counts, then I place it upon Siltaris, for proving to me, not with words written nor said, but with her actions that she is more than a good leader.

As to Zzyanthis, I have expressed my wish to no longer be a citizen until more lizards turn up on this isle. We have three candidates, everyone is free to vote one of those. Everyone who doesn't vote is either not anymore around the town, or he doesn't wish to give a vote. If he or she simply doesn't wish to vote, he or she can write me a dove telling me so, i will accept that and she or he won't lose citizenship.

But if someone neither votes, nor inform me that he or she doesn't wish to vote, it means that he or she isn't active anymore, and so will be taken from the citizenlist.

this serves just to have an actual citizenlist, free of all the names of former citizens who are either dead, or left the isle for ever.
