*Letter to the towns*

Post by The Knights of Gobaith »

((Closed topic to the people mentioned only please))

A messenger comes running in with a letter addressed to the leader of the government. It is addressed to them only depending where it is delivered. Lady Samantha Meryadeles of Tolls Bane, King Thorwald of Silverbrand, Lord Taliss Kazzxs and Lord Gil’Dran of New Zzyathis, Miss Maggie Kermoc of Varshikar, The Elders of Tol Vanima, and Mayor Dusty of Greenbriar.

In the dawning of a new year comes the dawning of a new age for Kallahorn. In the past we have been secluded to Kallahorn on the east end of the isle. Now, we will hide there no longer. We are now known as The Knights of Gobaith, and will conduct ourselves as so.

As the Knights of Gobaith we wish to offer you our swords, axes, and all other weapons we can offer. We would like to help defend your town from all harm that may become it and to act as guards when needed. Being of Gobaith and citizens of the various towns, there is no reason that our men could not be apart of your guard. It is up to you whether they should be allowed or not.

We hope that this alliance will help bring peace to the isle. Those towns who we hope to include in this alliance are as follows, Trolls Bane, Greenbriar, Varshikar, Zzyathis, Tol Vanima, and Silverbrand. We intend for these towns to encourage you to join and not persuade you other wise.

-- Sir Dantagon Marescot
-- Knight of Gobaith

What I'm missing, just as Kallahorn was lacking it as well, is a proper codex.

Kallahorn had 'rules'. Let alone that three of the rules were implying that you have to be loyal to Kallahorn, no matter what. The rest was: Never insult a lady; don't decline a duel of honour; don't attack an unaware opponent; and how to adress your people right.

What about justice, faith, humility, largesse, nobility (mercifulness, honesty, humbleness, self-discipline, rightness), respect towards everyone. A codex that really shows what your knighthood stands for. A codex that your members can learn and know by heart and live along it, like it should be...

Kallahorn had a way too much loyality and a little too less moral... don't do the same mistake.

There was an unspoken codex that a few knights of kallahorn followed, a good time ago however. Though some more lax than others, Four of them still followed the code. They followed honor, pride, compasion, strength in brotherhood, the will to live, the fight for protection. These knights included Nialandria, Godfrey, Gabon, and Sylathen. They were more respected than any knight to ever claim the title of Knight, or Paladin, of Kallahorn.

You say there is no reason why they should not become a guard. Is not the reason that they are loyal to you first enough?

The Knights of Kallahorn were pretty well known for their lack or morale, honor and for their lack of knighthoodness. They did not behave like knights, they just claimed the titles. That is the reason why everyone laughed about them while naming them in the same sentence with the words "bandits" and "fools". Some of their members were even involved with the black cultists of the former Temple, just for the cause of perhaps getting a bit of power. Which is a behavour that is as far away from knighthood and honor as anything can be.
A knighthood is nothing without modesty and a real codex to follow. Values and virtues must exist in this codex as well as the striving to fulfill these virtues and the codex must exist in every member. But every single member of this knighthood must have this striving, else the codex and the knighthood will be nothing but empty words.
A codex without real values or one which simply handles manners, but not morale and virtues, is without value, and so will be the knighthood following it.

I believe the words addressed by this messenger were of peace and pardon.
The man known as Sire Datangon Marescot is offering his apologies to redeem the past of the knighthood he know leads, and give it a new beginning.
I lack to see why they should not receive our support, for for all I've seen in the little time I have been on Gobaith, most towns need such forces as knights.
