The Stalking Night

In the dark of night various screams can be heard throughout Troll's Bane. A man dressed in plate armor with a bloodied sword stalks though the streets, seeming to search some one or maybe something. He seems to stop in all of Troll's Bane's buildings and then continues on after leaving some strange and unknown mark on the ground drawn in blood.

Kaila's heart beats very fast as she looks in his eyes. Her curiousity at his actions suddenly turn to fright when seeing the look of one possessed. With saddened eyes she carefully places an arrow in her bow waiting to see what Miru will do while quickly glancing at Eli.

Merrilyn Ferly sees that a fight is about to break out, not wanting to get involved with the violence, he silently tries to creep out of the room. He looks back one last time as he leaves the room. The look on the man's face is enough to give him nightmares for a week...

The night was a blur, fretting over Zalun'din still missing, the 200 more silver needed and soon, the endless working in the piggery, still haunted by the killing awhile back, friends that may be parting,.....and now Dain...

With no idea why Dain was after Mark or himself, Miru throws is weapon to the floor and tells Dain he is unarmed and if it must be, to take the fight outside of town. Mad at himself he leaves town to await Dains attack, almost caring no longer what happens.

Dantagon, Eli, Kaila, Nerisella, and a few others follow and in the end convince him that Dain is not himself and that they must search for him.

Dain is found and after a short fight he escapes....is found and this time stays out of reach.

Miru is almost dragged by the others to the safety ...for a while...of the library..and in the end they all make an escape out the back way.

Miru leads them to a place he feels is safe....but alas more news to sadden him.

The once mighty and special Eldan Oak... has been laid waste by some......some one....the roots still live but the tree is gone....

In shock Miru lets them lead him to what might be safety...

Later some others arrive, the one he calls Princess and Dren and their friend arrive and after a long talk most go to to rest.

Unable to sleep Miru roams about wondering why all this is happening.....then a dove arrivesfrom a shipwrecked sailor..

Zalun'din had mentioned you ....before the strom smashed the ship .....she was ill and on deck...and a wave caught her ...and washed her overboard

NOOOOoooo.....Miru crys my ....(and sobs muffle what was said)..

...later in a fretful dream she comes to him on a beach somewhere and says that she with his other ancestors will look down on him....
