No one wrote it down because it is a simple matter of common sense.

Should not the citizens of Trollsbane decide, whether it is common sense or otherwise?

Dear Fooser,

If Trollsbane is to elect another Governor, according to Law, then the law must be clear.

At the time of my offer, there was no such law. If I am elected though, there will be such laws. I intend to set up a democratic government for Trollsbane, for the citizens of Trollsbane, that will last, no matter who is elected.

You cannot claim to 'uphold' the law if you change them at will.

That's not Democracy, it's Tyranny.

That's the last thing Trollsbane needs right now. They need a steady, stable and capable government that will last the test of time. I have done that in Greenbriar. I can leave it and it would be fine. I have already done so for a year, and it was still there when I returned, that is how I know it will last. That is what Trollsbane needs too and that is what I offer.

What laws has anyone changed? How many non-citizen leaders has there been? None because it is a fairly simple precedent that everyone understood for years, which you decided to suddenly throw into question for no reason at all. The decision was already made on this, so you can stop your rambling.

Lady Samantha is revising the laws as we speak by her own admission.

As for non-citizen leaders, I recall Brer Beothach was a citizen of Varshikar not long before becoming Governor of Trollsbane. And Fooser, you even tried to start an "Empire of Gobiath" and you even became a 'King' of Trollsbane. As far as I see, Trollsbane seems to let anyone become their leader. I am simply asking the people to use some sense when choosing the next one. Enough of the nonsense.

If it was this easy to throw the Law into question, then it wasn't very well written. Common Sense is no substitute for the written word.

I will continue to 'ramble' until I am rejected in an election, or the people speak up about this. The reason is that what Trollsbane has done for years obviously isn't working. I suggest trying something different.

Even Babes know this philosophy, "If something stinks, change it".

Now, that's 'Common Sense'.

To the people of Trollsbane,

After thoughtful consideration of the views expressed, the 'emotions' of some who have replied, and the lack of popular support from others, I shall withdraw my offer at this time.

I offered my services to help calm and create a stable government. That is still my desire, however I am apparently not the one to do this at this time.

I hope to assist the new governor any way that i can and perhaps brings some peace back to the land.

Prehaps it IS time for a change. Maybe we should run not by a single person, But a group of people forming a "Senate". They would be elected members (Say 4 or 5 people?) Who would run the city by voteing on everything. There dosn't even need too be a set time they can be a Senator. If the people dislike them, They vote them out! Think wider people, Trollsbane hasn't improved much under the current government, So let us change it!

I am not sure if we shouldn't stick with the current system of government for now, until a new governor decides, that he would like it changed.

This letter is written with a flowing handwriting, and in a deep blue ink

Lady Samantha, Upholder of the Law of Trollsbane,

I wish to apply for the elections for the government of Trollsbane. Although I do not have much practical experience in the leading of a town, I have been well-thought by my tutor, the art of argument, and the meaning of the word justice.

Although I am not yet a citizen, there is nothing to prevent me from becoming one; so I doubt this should be considered as a problem.

I await some sort of acknowledgement from your part, fairest Lady.

May Elara watch your footsteps and guide your pen

A man could be seen gathering a assortment of plants, then grinding them into a sticky paste, red in color.

I aswell wish to partake in the elections of the govenor as a candidate, may the man with the most pulifting plans for this glorious city win, good competition never hurt a fellow, did it?

Good luck to you all.

I quite agree that Dusty would do well to lead the city. For the moment, however, I think that he is at a conflict of interest with the Kingdom of Roushan and Greenbriar for the moment.

I suggest that before he is to be considered, the issues between Roushan and Greenbriar be sorted out.

Dusty Bottoms is the leader of Greenbriar, so he can't become Governor of Troll's Bane.
As "A" stated: There is a conflict of interest with this "Kingdom" of Roushan and Greenbriar.

The time for candidationing is over. We have 3 candidates. I am sorry for the two other who applied, but you applied too late and you were not citizens when the time for candidations started.

The three candidates are:

Siltaris
Fooser
Skaalib Drurr

For the next month ((1 rl week)), those three candiates have the possibility to advertise for themself. They can announce their goals and future plans and try to convince the citizens to vote for them. At the end of this month the votes will start and the new governeur will be elected.

I have written my plans already, but I shall write them again here.
As for what I would do with this town, I realise that the biggest single thing for citizens is security of the town. I would look to recruit new guards, and pay a small wage to each of them. This wage would be based upon performance; upon the number of criminals detained, chased away, or even killed (excluding the guard captain). The wage would allow no excuses for poor performance, and so the guard would be much more efficient and active.
However I am not so generous as to fund this from my own pocket. I would look to a lot of ways to generate income for Trollsbane. I would look to expand the territory, which would put more land to sell to citizens, making more money.
I would look to start the first ever Gobiath wide lottery. Any could partake and win a coin prize! Also I would look to have street markets were merchants can sell wares and give a percentage of intake to our government, and also regular faires to hold games, music and ale, and other merriments.
I might also employ dedicated tradesmen to make money for the town in exchange for privileges within town.
And of course, a contreversial issue; taxes. I would try to not tax citizens, but if absolutely necessary, I will not count it out.
I also have other idea to make Trollsbane the most productive and safe town on the whole isle!

And here is why I believe you should vote for me, nor the other two candidates. Fooser has already been King of this town, and I wonder, how was security then? How long did it takes for the walls to be repaired after the attack of Negros? Too long I think.
And as for Miss Siltaris, I think she is doing a wonderful job as captain of the guard, and it would be a shame were she to have to vacate this position.
Perhaps some of you know me. I am not going to be one to mince my words as governor of this town, nor be soft. I would be honest and fair to all of you, and mark my words, I have the best interests of the town at heart, unlike one of the other candidates who has already abandoned the town once.

Dear citizens of Troll’s Bane, dear folks of Gobiath,

In the last weeks and month I was forced to see how the situation in Troll’s Bane went worse and worse due to the complete absence of the Governor as well due to his inability to set up appropriate laws for the town. Fortunately, in the end the Governor did the best thing he could do in such a situation – he resigned.

Since I have joined the Town Guard of Troll’s Bane, I gave all my efforts for doing this job the best way I can. Many criminals have been imprisoned due to the actions of the Guard, the Magistrate and allies of Troll’s Bane.
Since I have been the Captain of the Guard, I had more competences and thus was able to find more allies for the Guard and for Troll’s Bane. Unfortunately, the current unclear laws made it impossible to really make visible progress in these issues.

However, now, with the elections for a new Governor of Troll’s Bane, I finally see the opportunity for Troll’s Bane to make huge progress on its way to a safe and glory future. I want to continue and intensify the actions I have begun as Captain. I need the competences of the Governor of Troll’s Bane to be really efficient and effective in these issues to bring Troll’s Bane forward, to make it a better place.

That is why I ask you, citizens of Troll’s Bane to give your vote to me.
That is why I ask you, the people of Gobiath to trust me so you will see Troll’s Bane in future as a reliable and strong town in the centre of Gobiath, where peace, freedom and honor are at home.

The actions I will do, if you, the citizens of Troll’s Bane, allow me to become the Governor of Troll’s Bane are:

- The very first thing I will do is to establish fair, reliable, reasonable, effective and efficient laws. The times where it was difficult to see what the current law might be will be over then.
- I will renew the relations to other towns and Guilds of Gobiath to find allies and friends. Troll’s Bane is the town in the centre of Gobiath and thus needs to have good relations to the other territories and kingdoms.
- I will set up a strong Guard, which will care for the town, following the clear laws of the town. In near future the Town of Troll’s Bane will be avoided by criminals, because they will fear the Guard which would wait for them there.
- I will care for the feeling of living in a community by organising markets, festivals and gatherings. Troll’s Bane will not only be a safe place, but a place where people enjoy living and spending their time.
- There will be no taxes for citizens ever as long as I will be Governor. I cannot tell you the way the government will get the money in detail yet, because it is still in planning. But be sure that the town of Troll’s Bane will have enough money to do what is needed.
- I will create a new and well-structured board for the Town of Troll’s Bane, where all the issues mentioned here and many more will be explained in a clear way, so it is easy for everyone to inform yourself on your own.

So I ask you, the citizens of Troll’s bane to give you vote to me. I am citizens of Troll’s Bane for three years now, and in this time all I did was to make it a better and safer place. I always have and always will serve for peace and justice.

~Siltaris~
