but... if we do that, it'll be harder for them to look for the bugs though. So while they want to fix it, i think it's better if we crash it as often as possible and hope they can get the bug and squash it really hard *grins*Pellandria wrote:thats exactly what I wanted to say XD, please people stop figthing or crafting just rp for a while..I don't think walking or talking is bugged.Samantha Meryadeles wrote:it becomes ridiculous...
Debugging is not fun (from my own experience), so while they have the spirit for it, we should support them for it

Ok i try to explain the last downs. We had some changes which will allow us to script some new things which where impossible before (some new spells, illnesses. poisons. etc. ) But this changes where not easy. So it seems that the scripting language has destroyed some objekts which where needed during the runtime of the server.
The garbage collector of lua (our scripting language) has deleted them. The next time the server accesses this data ends up in a segfault.
I don't know if that really is the problem but i think so. And i think i should have solved this problem currently at the testserver, but the next Realserver test run will start tommorow. Tonight i will see if the server is running again stable without this effects.
Another problem was the debug session. I startet illarion with a debugger in the background. But the problem with this debugger is, its sometimes a bit to hard with debugging. It let segfault the server where is no really segfault.
So we had to restart it again and again to find out where the problem is.
