~A notice is posted in Trollsbane, Varshikar, Silverbrand, Greenbriar and Vanima~

TO all peoples of Gobiath,

I, Alexander Rothman, Count of Adaman, have come to Gobiath to seek vengeance and restitution for my families honor.

I am the Elder brother of Stephen Rothman, his son being Grant Rothman, my nephew and under my protection. Stephen has returned home, and I have learned of the lies and betrayals upon his person by you, the peoples of Gobiath. He is safe now from your scheme and trickeries.

Hear this,
Your so-called "Kingdoms" shall fall one by one in ruin and devastation. When I have salted the earth with your bones, then you will respect the 'Rothman' name. My conquest of this little Isle shall begin soon, and all those who do not submit, shall perish.

You think this is what your brother would have wanted? All you do is add fuel to the arguement that the Rothman name is dishounorable. The writer above is not wrong also, if you think you shall kill everyone and live to tell the tale.

Bring your troubles to Varshikar and you will be struck down accordingly. i suggest you learn your place. Do not enter the homes of others with threats of vengeance or you will find yourself quickly expelled.

It is Grant Rothman who has tricked and lied to us. Even being so dishonourable as to attacking people from behind and ignoring bans. If you wish to repair the damage done to the Rothmans by us, then you should uphold the familys honour, and not their dishonour. Follow the same path as your brother and his son, and you will meet their same fate.

Somehow I fail to see the honor in your words. You speak of doing horrors upon our land, yet you still speak of honor. Not only that but you pair your threats with the word "Pax" which means peace. Perhaps you should return to your brother, as you are not so welcome in this land. I can assure you, if the people of Gobaith can defeat demons, they can bring you down as well.

While entering Varshikar, a note pinned upon a wall caught Gryphius' attention. Having read through it swiftly, he clicks his tongue, shaking his head in disbelief. »That Rothman-rout - warmongers, alltogether.« He took a seat at a table, writing down his response.

Honorable count Rothman,

if your demand is to regain your families honor and
that the name "Rothman" is spoken with respect, i'd
suggest you to do as follows:

Go from door to door, throughout the whole island,
and beg for pardon for your brother's and nephew's
deeds, including treachery, warmongering, theft,
murder and kidnapping. Do so, and the name of
Rothman will stand for honor again. Attempt to
undertake the measures as announced, and show
once again a Rothman's quality.

It's all upon you.

From your words, it appears you are of that clan Rothman. We in Greenbriar are peaceful people and do not wish Ill of anyone. Your brother committed some crimes here, but if you wish to meet to discuss your grievances, I am sure we can come to an understanding. We have no quarrel with you or your family. We have had enough wars for a while and wish to be left alone.

Some people can go too far...Sometimes harsh words are said in the time of anger. Perhaps before you come with threats, you should think things through.

I, personally, do not enjoy the threat to the children of Gobiath, and I am sure I am not the only one. You may have witnessed braver souls "soil" themselves at your approach, but even you cannot face an army alone.

The People of Gobiath may fight amongst themselves, never in a time of peace, and they may also not enjoy banding together. However, when a stranger of a hated name comes and threatens them, that person will be repelled, or killed.

Threats are nothing when you have not the power to see them through.

as one of the minor folk here on this Isle Gobiath i had little dealings with the Rothmans, except a hello,good bye and such. And I would guess that that would apply to the majority of people here.

Yet you wish to punish all including the innocent, where is the honor in that?? yet you state is is for honor you threaten all ????

i would suggest you return to your kin and find out who he feels dishonored by, and deal with the those, rather than adding what would be more dishonor to your name.

Alexander Rothman,

the moment I've read your warning I actually took this quill into my hand to reply something in a good mixture of cynicism and insults. Yet I've changed my mind as I read the many other answers you got and instead will simply give you an advice:

The name Rothman has become nothing but a shame upon Gobaith and the reason for this are years over mistakes and misbehavior. Stephen Rothman has done many good things to Gobaith and the gods would have honoured him, if it weren't for some of his certain attitudes and actions who gave him the reputation he has now.
You wish to seek venegance for your brothers honour, but I will give you two things to think about: Stephen Rothman was a proud man. He was never in the need of a babysitter and was able to defend himself. Not even a second I do believe that Stephen has sent you, but instead you put yourself as his guardian. Stephen is a grown up man, Alexander Rothman.

Secondly, with your threats, behavior and actions you will erase the last few good things people still remember when thinking about the family 'Rothman'. And I can't imagine that's your aim.

For the sake of your family, Alexander Rothman, leave Gobaith and go back home. You will not find luck here, you will not achieve your goal. Just go back home.

You have done something that I have not seen in a very long time. You have caused the island of Gobiath, all the myriad factions and towns and sects, to draw together as one to reprimand you for your foolishness.

Please, by all means, continue, and give the island something to remind them that despite our differences, we can also stand in complete unity. For I hardly fear your ridiculous threats; this island possesses more strength than you give it credit for.

Rothman, ah I hear this name very often spoken now a days, in meanings containing jokes, horror and other things. I once saw up to your brother, Stephen Rothman, I once followed him as my true leader. My actions I regret. I see now that Rothman was nothing more than merely a powerhungry slave of his own dark mind.

Alexander Rothman, hereby I counter your wager of war upon Gobiath. I challenge you to a duel, to the death. Alexander has every right to be offended by the poor treatment and cruel mutilations of his family name. Lord Stephen Rothman would not be incredibly please with the way this is being taking by Alexander though. Bring true honor to your family name by living to the honor and glory Lord Stephen Rothman once grasped.
