I was not saying they should not. At no point i did.
But it was logical back then, A mage can obviously burn a warrior in a few attempts, but a warrior could slice open arteries of a mage and have them bleed to death in a few attempts.
Well, seriously. A couple of hits with a sword would kill anyone... Not only mages. One flame that consumes you would kill you instantly. But I have never seen a game that is that realistic. Maybe it would be nice though. I dunno.

The object is not to become more realistic. If you want to make the fighting/magic system this realistic then I would hate to hear your idea about crafting.

I dont. it wasnt I who stated this in the first place. Arameh I think it was, said that a warrior should kill a mage in a couple of hits, and that this was realistic
I am not really for realism, I am for fairness and balance, I stated that because some PO mages would say stuff like "magic should kill instantly since its a big bunch of ice fire whatever that strikes you"
If magic and meelee combat are to be balanced, I first suggest that all weapons break after five consecutive uses, that way warriors won't have the unfair advantage of outlasting mages.
But warriors are able to wear metal armours! I think mages should be allowed to wear metal, so that it is more realistic, and we'd have a greater variety of magic casters.
It'll add a whole new dimension to the system! Currently, the magic system is very restricting for roleplay, as you can only play sissies like samantha or athian.
They can only teleport out if they get the time to cast the spell, and having it succeed.
Wich can take quite a while I reckon.
As for the mages in platemail, well only for more balanced battlemages.
But can you really stop a mage from wearing some light lor-angur, I mean tech wise?

I suggest that runes disappear after five uses as well.
