Here is GMT + 1 I don't know what the time zone is in the pacific... but if you double click on your clock in the windows system tray, you should know what time zone your using.

'Here' refers to the server, and germany...

Just quickly pick it up and put it back down every now and then.

Warning:

As far as i understand, the system works this way

Every X minutes, there is a rot cycle, any items on the ground lose 1 'count'.

So techinically you can just put it down for 2 seconds, and there is a rot cycle and it rots.

It is a bit impractical

When playing Natilie Rosemary the trick I use to get around this is to just do an rped song and then have her ask for donations at the end. What you could do is every so often as you do your #me's, is to mention that there is a hat beside him with a few coins inside. If you don't want it to rot, rp it and don't actually do it.

do the skills increase quicker if say for example in carpentry, you produce more advanced items? or you kill harder monsters? and so on...

They don't necessarily increase *faster*... but, if you do something too far below your current skill (a carpenter with 75% of skill making a flail, or a fighter with 75% skill killing a pig, for example) you will not gain at all.

On the other hand, if you try something too difficult, that comes with its own risks (lots of materials wasted, or even getting clouded for fighters.. I heard rumors smiths don't earn skill if they fail, but I am not sure if I believe that since the rework of the system)

So, the key is to find the range of things you can handle but still earn skill on. As a general rule, go for something you 'unlocked' 2-4 'unlockings' ago. (ie, when you reach a certain skill, you 'unlock' new items to make... keep a sort of list about the order you learned to make new things, and choose things from the second to fourth batch of 'new' items back).

I hope that made sense!

Galvin wrote:Dear Players Of Illarion,

If you ever find any new players that need help with anything and you don't want to/can't help them, please send them too me. I am quite willing to spend my time helping them out and teaching them more about the game. I am a bit depressed as too how many players are being banned and have decided to do something about it. Please, you can PM me or just leave a reply on this board if you need me to help someone. Also, if you are a new player and wish help in the game, please post a time and your characters name and I will be more than happy to help. My forum accounts you can reach me at are: Galvin; Jason Tanner; Krenlar; and Deshinal. Please, if you need a quick response send it to Galvin. Thanks for reading this and I hope you all have a great day and time in game. :)

Its kind of impossible because no newbee will be willing to log out and PM and wait a week to get a reply from you. If you were IG it would sort of disturb much RP to find you and hand over the noob. I mean look.

((Yoo galvin heres the noob))
Noob:((what are we doing?))
((He is going to teach you how to play))
((okay lets go newbee I will teach you))
Noob: ctrl click((How can I trust you?))
*kills noob((dont attack me you will disrupt my RP if I lost to you))
Noob: (( I am not learning from you))

And so on..........

Any newbie who decides to ctrl click someone just for the fun of it will probably not use OOC or even talk. And if you haven't noticed, swish, people are treating this as a newbie questionare. So they don't have to wait for people to reply, instead they ask here.

#me jumps back and draws his sword, "I'll send you to Moshran"
Noob: What's a Moshran?
Changes were emboldened

Well, when i was new, I ctrl klicked somone because noone, responded. The reason why so many players leave us, is our fault as well. If a newbie attacks you, he can hardly hurt you, so we could at least try to speak him to senses.

The guild of trades does a great job helping noobs. Keep it up=)

I have never understood why newbs always attack random people. I mean in any other game do you attack anything that does not answer?
