Construction

Post by paul laffing »

I have played many RPGs. They all became boring. This game is different. It has more than just "level-building." But that is besides the point. The reason i joined this game is because i wanted to make buildings. I was so excited when i logged on the first time. And guess whatt... No construction for regular players. I continue to play, but now it is just like any other game. I am dissapointed. I want to know what other people think.

constuction will be avalible in the future. it isnt avalible now because the GMs dont have a map editor to make plces to build a home for over 1k players. they are expenseive so most couldnt get them YET, and this has been brought up many times before. be patient, i ahve asked when and i was told around a year. be patient and save up you money so you can get one when the time comes.

homes

Post by paul laffing »

I don't mean homes. I mean i want to be able to build my own houses. It would be cool to be able to work for a building company and... well, build. :D

As Drogla pointed out, it is a question of free place.
The map is to small for everyone beeing able to build houses.
So only GMs could build houses.
Maybe later it would be possible, that you have to collect the materials for a house or to pay for a house, build by GMs after your plans of the house.

I think what he wants is to become a construction worker. Someone who builds houses for others.

But, you see, building is very much limited right now, because of the lack of place, as pointed out. A construction worker wouldn't have much to do at all right now. Maybe the system described in the project description is integrated in the future, but even then building would surely be not too common.

I know there have been disruptions and other issues regaurding the guys/girls making the game, but...didnt they say wait about a year last year?

I mean I have been playing for a year now and the only obviouse change I have noticed is...the new bits of map..and enemys AI seems to be a bit better, give or take one or two more things. I mean Im sure theres lots of things I aint noticed, that I am sure off. Tho right now things DO seem to be moving forward. So as my dear old gran would say....'you aint paying for it so sit there and wait you greedy little...'

you should take into account that there was no server programmer for nearly a year... so who should have made changes in that time? :)
the recent improvements are a result of the new server programmers who work on this project now.
don't get impatient :)

Yes, it seems there have been more changes and upgrades ever since Serpardum and the rest of the new staff were signed on then for the entire past year.

Kudos to the entire hard working staff!

Uhm ähm 10 January till 30 March = 4 Month, sure.

Its not important, if it give new thoughts. Because, how you know its unpossible to convert/ build it.

And what happened can you see ingame.....

He means the situation hasnt changed much, and neither will people's opinions really, as you still can't build anything.

However, If we were to build it should requre the hardest level of skill and about 100 ore and 100 coal to make a wall otherwise there will be buildings everywhere.

Unfortunately there will always be some people who are naughty and just build walls across streets making parts of the town unaccessable, therefore buildings would have to be able to be destroyed making even more chaos.

Plus there isnt enough space on the map for too many more buildings, there needs to be lots of forests and deserts and other empty spaces to farm, lumberjack and get away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

But apart from that is would be nice.

But what I propose is that when the GM's are going to build a new building in game that we should be allowed to help by fetching resources, and positioning walls. Abilities to move walls will be taken off your char once you finish and if you dont do as the GM says you are placed in prison for a long time.

This is not a proposal.
