König von Silberbrand
edit: Bitte lest diesen Text dazu und handelt danach. / Please read this text and act after it.

((First I want to excuse. My english isn't the best. But I don't want forget dwarfs, who cannot speak german.))
Greetings dwarfs of Trolls Bane and environs!
The first parts of the Silverbrand were built with the hard work of the dwarfs. Now it's time for the coronation, which many dwarfs, who lives a longer time in Trolls Bane, expected since many month.
But many young dwarfs are living in Trolls Bane without any knowledge about this. So I want to inform all about the facts. Tialdin was one of the first dwarfs in Trolls Bane, who wanted built a one city for us. He lives in Trolls Bane a long time. I think, the longest time of all dwarfs, who walk through the city now. But now I want to see, if anyone dwarf wants another dwarf for king in Silverbrand. So, in my position as the priest of Irmorom, I ask: "Who shall be the king?"
Please vote and write down your motive and your meaning about the city under the city. I will only count votes of dwarfs and only votes with a written text here. So you should confirm your vote in the text.
In addition to that, no dwarf should write here more than one time. If anybody will start a discussion, this one should start with a new note an this black board.
My thanks to all, who want vote
May Irmorom protect your business

Tialdin should be king! I speak this for both myself and my dwarven fried Croktin Skullcrusher. From what I have heard from Croktin it seems Tialdin will make a mighty fine and humble king for the dwarves. I hope he becomes the king to rule over the dwarfs. With his leadership everything will be under control and everyone will be happy.
May Irmorom and Elara bless you all.

I'm really sorry to ask this since I'm not a dwarf and this does not concearn me as much as others but why should Tialdin be selected as king instead of any other dwarf? There have been no promises or declarations from him saying what he would do as King. There have been none from any other dwarf either. There is no opposition, no competition and no election. You're handing him a crown because he paid for it? Because he's been around longer that most? To me this doesn't seem like it would have any baring on how good of a king he would be. I could be wrong in these statements but from what I've seen and heard they are true. Please forgive me if they were written or spoken in the other tongue for I do not understand it.
As for turning dwarftown over to all dwarfs I think this is a bad idea personally. This one group of dwarves has worked very hard in order to pay for this and should enjoy the fruits of their own labor. If a dwarf wished to join their 'family' then they should help pay for what they're using. A small donation to pay back to these dwarves for what they've created on their own. If Tialdin or any other dwarf is elected king it should be over the residence of dwarftown and not all dwarfs. If that's to happen then it would have to be an exclusive family or guild you must join or else all dwarves would be under the rulership of the king of this cave-town that was built by a few wealthy individuals. That is not fair in any way to any dwarf who wishes to be free. It would also not be fair to the King, if all dwarves were allowed into the city but were not all under the rulership of that King. He could not enforce the laws created for the city on people not under his authority (dwarves not a part of the 'family' but using the city) so he couldn't punish people breaking his laws if they were to escape his kingdom into the fresh air outside.
These are just my thoughts. Please forgive me for the length but I wanted to express myself clearly, and I'm sure I've failed in doing that. I mean no offense to Tialdin or any other dwarves by stating what I have but I wanted to give yet another point of view on this topic. Thank you for listening.

Good point Niniane. But I came to a coclusion that you are right about only the dwarves that helped pay for the town. But over that you should come to hear some of the more positive things about Tialdin. Yes and no he should and shouldn't be a king of silberbrand but more than all the dwarves love him and want him to rule over them. He was chosen by them to represent the town and besides if he ever makes the dwarves mad he could be removed from the trown and a new king could be added. This is all I have to say about this. Excuse me for any offensive things you may find here. I am not argueing but viewing the facts with you.
It takes much more than being loved by many to be a wise and just Ruler. I wish Tialdin many happy years on his throne but I also will wish many happy days for those who chose him to be king, and that they will not regret chosing for their king a dwarf who has spent a great part of his life working and making money and has known very little of ruling others and the ways of governning his people. A king must make many hard judgements and this will offend those who are impacted in a bad way. If he was set on the throne by love it can be quickly taken out from under him when his judgements and punishments are passed.
On a lighter note. Tialdin? Do you have a Queen yet? I know this lovely woman who says she's a Queen. You really should look for a woman of royal blood to take as your Queen.

I agree... Being a king would require more than just love... It would often require many things that can be painful to a king with compassion (passing judgment on a good friend for something, having to make sacrifices in the name of keeping prosperity). There are many factors that would put much pressure on a kind king.
On a lighter note. I know of this lady you speak of, she is of the greatest beauty in the land...no, in the world. Her energetic persona intertwined with her vast knowledge makes her unsurpassingly perfect in every aspect. Oh, and I also heard she is a Queen.

Cain and Niniane who is this queen you speak of? Is she dwarvish? If so then I think Tialdin should look into it. And Niniane if your refering to yourself. You already have your own small kingdom...lets see you have roke as your knight and Dyluck as your court jester?
And you have caters and and well the list is endless but you get the point.

Niniane, you said exactly the same thing I was saying.
If all dwarfs are not given the city, and I'm not in the guild that paid for the city, then he is not MY king is he?
But, they are asking for ALL dwarfs opionions, not only those in the guild. Which means they expect Tialdin to rule over ALL dwarfs.
That isnt' going to happen unless the city is given to ALL dwarfs.
Get my point?
I built a house. So I'm King of my house, that makes me your King. Sorry, only if you live in my house.

Yet if all dwarves are given the city then all dwarves are under the rule of the King of the city. There would be no free dwarves, all would be under Tialdins rule whether they like it or not. This would be unjust and should not be the case. If you are to say that they can declare themselves free of Tialdins rule and live free on the surface, what is to keep them from sneaking into the city and taking all of it's benifits with none of it's costs? For this reason I believe it should be kept as a private holding that could only be accessed to members but membership could be granted pending acceptance by the king, and swearing of certain dwarvish oaths created by the king. I know nothing of dwarvish oaths so I won't waste your time with my own suggestions.
They may be asking for all dwarves opinions due to the relatively low membership in the current guild and need a more varied group of individuals with more opinions than their own. If this were the case then they would not expect to rule over these outside dwarves, only to receive their valued opinions. If they DO expect to rule over all dwarves then Tialdin my dear, your kingdom will be shortlived when the outside dwarves are issued their first command or ruling, and rally together to oust you from your throne and take the city for their own.

There are some point I should correct:
Silverbrand is not a guild. It's just the dwarftown. (You can see it as a house)
Any dwarf can live there if he want. He does not has to pay for it. There is only the scroll of citizens he must sign in to become an citizen of Silverbrand and then he accepts the rules of the town.
The king does not make justice alone. He will have advisors.
The king will be the king of Silverbrand, not of all dwarfs.
Some of the builders of Silverbrand came together to see who can be a king. The most populair and fair candidate was Tialdin. (So we thought about that and he does not give the most of the money for the city)
