The new mapeditor (verson 0.67 anyways, I think it's the newest), is having some problems.
Well, atleast one problem that I noticed. When I select the option "replace" (instead of add, which is on by default), and for instance, want to place a Scandrel Pine instead of a normal fir tree (on the same tile, so with the replace option on it should replace it). Instead, the program crashes.
Anything that I could be doing wrong that causes this? Or any known solutions? Version 0.66 didn't have this problem.
Upon further testing, the whole replace option makes my mapeditor crash. Even when accidently clicking on a fir tree with a fir tree selected makes it crash (which would normally just replace the old fir tree).
I...I use this option like always. I really wish there was some kind of solution to it.
No error message. the editor behaves like the client. it freezes. And you have to close it by force. once you use "replace" the whole programm doesnt react anymore on anything. it simply stops doing anything
You have a map editor too Patric? Sweet, help me out sometimes. Anyway, it freezes yes. No crash whatsoever, and I just forceclose. And then I open the map editor again, and you get that nice german screen asking if I want to do something (I never bothered to read it fully, because it deals with having multiple instances of the map editor open and stuff, so I just always press no. Never caused problems in the past for me. Oh, and I did try it again by pressing yes, never changed much about the situation).
Help please? I can conduct some more bug testing if you like? Or perhaps wait 4 hours till it truly does crash or something? Because I really want to finish this map I am working on, but my most important tool just got gimped.
Hmm, i was able to finish the new seahorse map without that tool. just use the "delete" function by the item and tile list to delete the item you want to replace and set the new one at the tile.
Well, I have found a temporary work-around, by using unique as to prevent items from the same ID to occupy one and the same tile (which is the same reason why I was using replace), yet it is still a pain in the ass to use. =)
