A letter to Lor-Angur

Post by Garett Gwenour »

Stephen crouches over a barrel at the humble lands of Kallahorn. He is writting a letter and a faint smile plays on his lips all the while.

To the elder mages of Lor-Angur,

I have some grave news that without doubt you will want to be aware of and certainly will shock and upset yourselves. On the small outpost island of Gobiath you established an appointed Archmage by the name of Samantha Meryadeles. She had been doing outstanding work as Archmistress of Gobiath by battling the evil that was Nalzaxx, (I am not sure if you have been told of this creature, but he became something of a demi god and was a potent enemy), as well as the evil you undoubtedly know of, Negros.

However she has been cast out of the position you granted her by another mage who's skill and rationale is questionable at times. Djironnima is an elf who has set himself on fire numerous times because of failed spells, yet he is the one who cleverly manipulated mages whom had sworn to be loyal to the aforementioned Nalzaxx as well as those young pupils desperate to learn magic and turned them all against Samantha Meryadeles.

The story goes that at the beginning of the Magic Academy's founding, Samantha Meryadeles approached Djironnima and offered him a place as teacher within the Academy. Djironnima refused stating he felt that no titles were nessasary for any mage nor any buildings. Yet his opinion seems to have changed when it was he who was getting the title.

Yet, I am sure you are wondering why I am writing you about this, why would a Knight care to write to the Archmages of Lor-Angur concerning their fallen Archmistress? Well I fear that Djironnima is far from being neutral as you, of Lor-Angur, pride yourselves in. I say this as he has taken a side in a minor conflict between my guild and another nation on this island.

The Knighthood I stand for, is called Kallahorn and we strive to be the most honorable and noble Knighthood, but we have our faults as all do. We admit to it and we are bending over backwards to find a peaceful ending to this conflict, (at this time our knighthood is the strongest fraction on the island and truly our restraint is being shown at this time). However it worries me for in the future, that the island you constructed in the name of Lor-Angur and neutrality and now being used as a base for an usurper whom will use his talents at manipulation and magic to weave the island's political structure into something he prefers.

I am sure my words will not fall on deaf ears. If you have any questions concerning Nalzaxx, Negros, the Knighthood or the specific's concerning the conflict in question please write back.

May Malachin guard your path,
~Stephen Rothman

Arugo reads the letter and mumbles some words, carrying it to Vasco.
