Post by Vilarion »

The next map update, which is going to happen in the next hour(s) will finally bring you real mountains into the game. Be sure to stay online until then and get a glance on them :)

------------------

Hrm, too bad i can take a look at them not before week-end, since they really look splendid. How about climbing on then? Is it technically possible for "normalos"?

However, darn fine work. Thumbs up!

Its not possible to climb on them it seems, but there are 'moutain paths' which you can cross.

Ps- Can we have llamas now?

Besides I like in general "real" mountains, I have to grouch a bit :):

Image

The tiles/edges in the two right red circles (and in general on mountains) are quite unattractive and also a bit confusing (no real difference between mountain and ground).

Maybe there should be special edge tiles for mountains (the cool ground transition is obviously not possible) which have borders of different colors?

PS to the left circle: Is is possible to strengthen the transparency (in general)?

There is no other solution currently. Transsition-tiles we only can have between 2 different tiles within a single mapfile. Not at the borders of a level. Maybe in future this could change, if we get "much" more graphics.

Different colors between the levels i an idea the staff had too. But it needs some time. To have mountains in general is more important in my eyes than such details. Mountains are a new feature and of course. We let them grow up and there also will be a permament development like with all other features of the game.

This question leads to Nop. I do not know if we can raise the transparency.

We had a try to solve the shadow-problem of high buildings and mountains. But it failed.

I think we need a new type of slaughter animal...MOUNTAIN GOATS!!!! They should drop horns and entrails atleast. I mean making horned helmets is one of the easiest things to do but the only way to get horns is kill an ogre or buy it at the lighthouse...unless you are a good carpenter. I will have to see if my carpenter can make horns, I am not sure if you can. I need to play him more.
