My two cents
Well i have some general suggestions i would like to make from stuff I have heard and thaught myself.
First off we need a good stable server. All the updates and everything we are trying to do gets to be pointless if the server just crashes when we get over 60. If you don't know what i am talking about look back to the final battle with negros. This should be first priority. Scratch other updates coming for a moment and fix this big one first.
Secondly I think the map should be larger, the towns and such should be the same size, just the space inbetween them. For a number of reasons. One the towns are to close together, especially with how many other towns people are trying to make. And if we do want more people to the game then we need more room.
Third, I think it is to easy for people to get into some trades, such as smithing. The only way you would become a smith in the medieval age was if you were training under a master.
((i am at school and bell just rung for class, i am not done yet for any who read this.))

First; look in development progress; it's being fixed.
Second; the map is big enough for now and the towns are going to get bigger with the new buildings. Plus making it bigger now will piss all the new towns who are so close to being built off. And there's enough problems with not being able to find anyone due to the large map size anyway.
Third; it costs a lot for a smithing kit so you can't just dive straight in. You also have to smith a lot to get good.
((They'd better be useful next time.))

I understand what you mean a little, but i think the space between towns is fine, and i can't see how anything can be done about the server, unless people reach into their pockets. And i think smithing is a bad example. Until you get really quite skilled, it is impossible to even break even if you buy ore and coals.

What you should first know is, what the word "server" means.Taeryon Silverlight wrote:Maybe, if we'd know how much a new, better server would cost, the people would spend a bit money to get one. If the price isn't impossible, I'd spend some.
First off, there's a computer (hardware) called a "server". This costs money and we have a pretty good one, hosted at the university of technology here in vienna.
Secondly, there's a piece of software, a program, that is called "server". Usually such a thing costs money, but we work on it and develop it freely, without getting money for it.
So, if "the server crashes", that means that the *software* crashes (stops working, that is). This can have various reasons, usually referred to as "bugs". We have identified some of them and try resolving these problems.
So, feel free to donate some money, but there's no connection between the money you give and the stability of the server(program).

There is just now the acceptance of the bigger map. You don't realize how many complaints (at least half the playerbase or so) with the huge map size increase from the former one. Theres still tons of room, I can see expanding the map to include more islands or peninsula of a bigger island till we need more expansion then we can further include more land.
The island is big enough for the people we have.

When you play Illarion, all your computer's doing is showing you the graphics and sending information to the server. the game itself (whatever can be done ect...) is the server software....
