Recruit pamphlet

Post by Taliss Kazzxs »

*the following is written in ink upon parchment in what looks like hand writing of one not well trained for neatness with the quill*

I Taliss Kazzxs have made an oath to the Monastic Order known as the Monks of the Five Styles.

Under the Monastic Order, we declare our neutrality.
Under the Monastic Order, we declare our balance.
Under the Monastic Order, we declare our spirit.

Style of Tanora
“the art of Hilu Ryula”

My life of the seas has taught me many things in which influence my teachings for the better, and may it be that any whom see my style will think of the great waters in which mother Zelphia has blessed us with and fall grateful for her majestic grace. Hilu Ryula, the name I have chosen to fit the mighty style of mother is of my native language Haslus and translates to something of Water Warrior. Though I use the word Warrior let it be know that we are not that but in truth seekers of peace who wish with all intent to maintain balance on the isle of Gobiath. Hilu Ryula, a style that depicts of the very waves themselves with an anticipated timely grace yet a devastating force that can crush to most formidable adversary. I strive to make it known that this style is not for those who are of thin agile nature but more so for those of large blows and of strong healthy stature.

Hilu Ryula is often seen as a slow fierce attack method but even though it is not the fastest of the five styles it is adequate to those capable of thinking in the heat of battle to plan out ones next series of attacks. The style uses tremendous force but takes brief pauses between an average of three attacks each series.

Stances
Hilu Ryula is an advanced style requiring the knowledge of multiple stances, though being a nearly all offensive style it also has a few defensive stances as well.

Offensive
Hilu Ulomin “Water Weapon” the most often stance used in the style of Tanora using only body combat.

Caliu Xwi “ Hot Foot” stance used for most kicks and spin related attacks.

Ular Kerj “Bashing Harm” is used when ever a monk in the Hilu Ryula style uses a staff weapon.

Defensive

Hilr “ Mountain” the only true defensive stance used when the opponent advances and the one executing Hilr stands his ground.

Chants
It is believed that a monk can become so advanced in art of Hilu Ryula that he can engulf himself in a state of meditative chants that call down the powers of the very gods themselves.

Klormin Hilu “Mind Water” a powerful chant thought to convince Zelphia herself to bring rain.

Kjamir Merj “Pray Cure” a chant that can cure an individual of there wound and illnesses.

Attack Moves

If you are interested in actual attacks you might as well contact me through dove and have me show you them in person for there are many.

My Teaching

My methods of teaching differ from that of the other elders of the Masonic Order. It is said that I am a tough trainer whom has often difficult and tedious tasks and I would imagine this is true. Learning under me involves more than the occasional sparing session. It involves honor, kindness work, discipline and being condemned to a blue robe that you most likely will not fancy. Regularly we do strength training, from various exercises to traveling all over the isle with a bag of iron upon your back. Dodging practice will be in order as it has been, involving standing on a high narrow rock all the while having apples thrown at you with enough force to make you want to dodge them. It should be known that as the god Zelphia is primarily worshiped by lizard men I accept student off all races and gender. It should be written now that any lizard training under me will be forced to sheer his claws as I have done myself for a closed fist is requires for more advanced training. Should anyone wish to contact me for questions or for joining the order I can be reached through dove and am willing to take on many more students a this time.
