Religous Symbols

Yeah, I know that the gods have varying animals to represent them, but do any have a symbol. I play a paladin and he has a necklace around his neck, a plain blackstone gem, but I have thought and perhaps there should be specific symbols to represent each god.
Example; Christianity has a cross, Islam has a cresent moon, Jews have the star of David

and so on..

does anyone have any suggestions?

one could use zodiac signs, that correspond to the gods adjectives.

You could use everything you please, if you keep it.. hmm local enough.

Like: "In the hometown of my character, cabbage was the sign assigned to this god"

Just don't claim it'd have to be really official or valid world-wide, and you can use pretty much everything as local customs can differ greatly.
