The School of Combat

Post by Ryland »

After much time without a warrior school in Illarion, Sir Gannon and I have decided to bring back the School of Combat. It will be open immediately, and whatever tests which are posted on the website are up and running. Tests can be taken from Sir Gannon, Sheena Power, or myself. More detailed information is provided on the website. Hope to see you there!

I think it's to keep the guild's money up, but I'm not sure if many people would want to pay just to move up a rank, since some might not be very wealthy, but completely capable of completing the test.

It seemed to work fairly well for the Magic Academy, and the School of Combat the first time it opened.

The reason we institute fees is so that one day we will have the funds to build a guildhouse or other building. Do universities not charge a fee for attaining a degree? Even if you have the skill, you still need to support the school at which you train. The tests aren't meant to make you poor, but they still are necessary. The later tests cost more, due to the fact it shouldn't take you only a day or two to master combat, rather weeks and weeks, in which time you can easily make the money required for the tests. In the game right now, it is far too easy to become an expert at a skill, and perhaps one day it will change and the fees will become more acceptable.

If I become a student in your school, would I only pay the money and do the tests or would I also get some fighting lessons?

So is the school open or what? I just haven't heard anything about it since Ryland's last post and am wondering.

Sorry about the repeat posts, I kept getting a "couldn't send email" message and so I logged out and tried to post again a couple of times. The posts never showed up last night and I just now saw them and thought I should explain.
