We don't have a problem with a skill system.
And the bug also seems to keep mages from learning magic, hehe... didnt get a skillup for weeks now even with one skill still in the 30s.
Illarion only has the same old problem it ever had, we have a learning and skilling system which is focussed on the one or other form of powergaming : those doing it will be in advantage, those doing it just a "necessary" bit won't be able to do certain things.

That was taken from Keikan's guide. Willpower was stated as:Arameh_ wrote:That is willpower, essence dosent affect in direct RP which isnt related to magic I think,
These are for the lowest stats of course.Willpower:
You are weak in your mind, so weak that even a child can make a servant of you.
You are always doing what others tell you.
Essence is more protection from unnatural influences (magical) and governs charisma. Willpower is how well you can protect/defend your own ideals and such.

Why do I keep posting, I suppose in this instance that it is a issue that has been used time and time again to claim rp excellence. I play my character stats…
Well if you’re a mage its easy to play your stats, as your character is weak technically, slow technically and smart statistically. I recall William Elderberry and numerous other dumb characters playing mages. So you know what I say they have 11+ intelligence make them rp intelligence and I would rp Pendar dumb as his 4 intel.
First thing people reading that will say is weak argument but look deeper smarts, charisma even willpower. Are intangible traits that people can rp or not, a weak debater could have 18 willpower does not mean Pendar would ever lose an argument to him.
You either can rp smart and charming or not simple...and even willpower even over the internet through a digital game many characters lack the fortitude to keep there morals and not be lured by -excitement- or promise any time!
I played intelligent, non combat non mage characters and you know what it’s a choice, same as playing all 10’s statistically. It’s a choice for rp preference not a necessity to great rp.
If I had of made pendar with 14 intel, 14 charisma etc he would never have been a an able defender of the town. He would never have been able to lead the town if I played him stupid. Was he really detrimental to the game? Was it a drain to the atmosphere?
So illarion needs to grow up,
Intelligence could make you skill cap lower…say 0 intel 230 cap. 6 intelligence would mean you 238 max skills. Eventually 18 would mean you maxed out at 250. Or what ever equation works…
Intelligence already means you learn quicker apparently…
Charisma could mean you can buy cheaper from vendors and sell higher or can use a charm skill on bandits. It doesn’t really matter but make them useful and people will build a character technically that suites what they wish to achieve and as such rp.
Frankly not playing a moron because you wish to be competitive in pvp combat and don’t pretend you can be competitive with 12 strength and dexterity, is not poor rp its necessity.
Much as you don’t build with all 10’s in statistics and attempt to become a great magician.
I’ m done you want balanced characters make a system that rewards balance, not just claims to.

I know I'm a lazy ass since I haven't read the secoond page and some other stuff, but please forgive me if I say something incredibly stupid.
I see no problem with remaking a char. I have considered it once, and I still am, (well, I was until now) because noobs can make some pretty crappy stats! I'm an idiot, I made a char, name somehow made it through the system and ended up having to remake a char (on my first day). some gm emailed me (before I knew about pming) on how 1 strength would make a crappy char. coulda helped, but instead I put points on strength and left some other stats out in the cold. important stats. I started playing, then a tweak in the system (it's not just intelligence) and I can't do anything. I put points on dextarity, and I still fail most the time making the worst quailty. I put points on agility, which depends more on your computers speed so I'm stil slow as hell. I put points on strength, which doesn't matter if your constitution is 2. you'll still die first hit.
point is, the attribute system is harsh, and I can understand why we can't change our stats for all the copper on the island (although cassy's offer was extremely genorous and I would love to take yet I feel something would go wrong) but remaking a char sacrafices all your skills! that's alot of work! if my fighter (that I don't have) wasn't just perfect, I wouldn't remake him to be the one and only. I would only do it when I was desparate.
and I don't see how it's item sharing if your holding it for two seconds. it's not giveing your inventory away.
