I'm sure you meant defend. But either way, master Glóin, dueling a dwarf hardly sounds like defending (or defeating?) one's town. You asked random strangers for brawls - a foolish and barbaric way of showing your physical strength. I do not care if you are strong and I do not care if you are a dwarf; You are a foolish and disrepectful oaf from what I have seen of you. Don't think you'll gain respect for your brawns and lack of intellectual reasoning.

Once more negotiations are off on account of Gloin inciting fights within the town of Trolls Bane. If he is within the walls of Silverbrand I am certain he will be taken into custody and sent henceforth to the jail of Trolls Bane so he may serve his time and the negotiations can continue.
I thank you and I am sorry Gloin is so bloodthirsty, perhaps now all can understand whom I had to communicate with for the past 3 months.
Stephen Rothman
Governor of Trolls Bane

These were my words some time ago on the matter. They were disregarded and left un-refuted due to my status as a non-citizen. I am, I believe, the last to recieve free citizenship, but I do believe I am still a citizen and thusly feel these issues should be addressed. The tavern should not be taxed, nor was it ever established that the governor must be contacted in order to declare something an embassy. Never has a precedent for such an action been set, thus Stephen cannot merely deem it unacceptable.
If, however, Stephen wishes to do so, then I feel that in the same right the tavern owners should have been contacted and informed when there land became a part of Trollsbane. From my readings of the history books, the tavern was originally founded outside of Trollsbanes limits, and Trollsbane merely declared the territory its own. if the dwarves were informed they would be taxed when Trollsbane annexed it (from my readings I cannot see the dwarves as being informed of anything at all) they would not have agreed. Under such circumstances I feel it is unnecessary and illegal for Stephen to both tax the tavern and declare it illegal to establish an embassy.
Mind you, these are in no way assaults on Governor Rothman's character, indeed these are merely my concerns, and I feel these concerns accuratly address the issues the dwarves had.

I see Katrina. The people who annexed it should have gotten a soothsayer and looked into the future. If they had, they may have seen this happening and told the dwarves, but then I guess the dwarves could have done their own divination.
Stephen came with a new government, and therefore there will be new laws. There are no previous laws to gauge whether his actions are illegal, just your own opinion. We don't always know what life brings us, and there is always a risk in every action. No one is held responsible for something they have no control over. This is between the Trollsbane government (as of now) and the dwarves, not the dead or past rulers. It is not an illegal action, there is no legal standing. It is the way things have come to be.
