Departure of Lance Thunnigan

Post by Lance Thunnigan »

Lance woke up in the middle of the night. His things were packed and sat in the corner of the hospital room, which he snuk into. He slowly slid out of bed, his eyes had dark circles beneath them and bags, his hair desehevled.

"I'm finally going to try to find my parents...

He walked over to his staff and gripped it tightly in his hand, it held so many memories, then took his bag and places it around his back. He walked out of the hospital and closed the door behind him and headed towards the shop.

"I need to say goodbye to some people, wouldn't be right just to leave." He thought to himself.

He slowly made his way towards the shops where Emily came up behind him. He smiles to her and gave a short whisper, "I'm leaving today.. Goodbye Emily." and looked around until he finally spotted the one woman he wanted to see... Blaithin.

He moved closer to her. He face was buried in her hands and a man was near her holding her gently while she cried. Lance walked slowly up to her and whispered to her,

"Blaithin, you know I love you. I know this won't help you with what you're upset about but... I'm leaving, taking that trip I talked to you about."

She slowly raised her head and looked over her shuolder at him and nodded, "You're leaving... Today?" She asked him, Lance ndoded slowly.

"Yes, I am. I'm sorry.." He said

He slowly walked up to her and hugged her tightly, as if never wanting to let go of her. She was like a mother to him, she cared for him and loved him like a mother would. "I love you too Lance... Like a son." She replied and smiles weakly at him, moisture was beginning to show in her eyes.

Lance slowly, reluctantly let go of her and nodded. He turned away quickly, holding back the tears in his eyes and made his way out of Trollsbane towards the direction of the docks..

Lance made his way out of the town guardshack and headed south. From where he was at he could barely see the forests. He knew it would be a long journey to the docks, but he didn't care. He was intent upon finding.. or finding information on his family. "If the God's permit.." He thought as he walked along the path.

He came upon the forest's edge and smiled to himself, though inside he was slightly saddened. He had left his friends and those dear to him behind him, only for a short time he thought and walked on.

He entered the forest and began to walk at a slow pace. His bag was awfully heavy, and he had brought his whole savings along with him.

He neared a large tree, there was no shade because of the canopy above, he shrugged and sat beneath it. The ground was moist, more than likely from the lack of sunlight he thought and opened up his bag. He pulled a small wooden cup and a bottle of water and filled the cup. He took a small sip from it then took out a loaf of bread, which he picked from a moment.

After a couple minutes had passed, his hunger was satisfied. It was like the meals Blaithin used to give him every morning. Water and Bread. He smiled to himself at the thought and stood up. He picked up his staff, packed up his things and carried his bag once more.

"I'm going to miss waking up to Trollsbane.." He admitted to himself with a grin.

Trollsbane had been his home for most of his life now, no matter how corrupt he thought it was, it was still home to him.

"Ah finally! He proclaimed to himself. "There's the docks!"

With a wide smile he made his way with a quickening pace towards the docks. As he neared he was greeted by a scruffy bearded man with veyr dark skin and very messed up hair. Lance passed him a couple coppers and he allowd him to board the ship.

Lance walked to the end of the ship and placed his things on the ground. It was a small ship, made for a small crew he thought. It had dark colored wood and many, many barrels. The smell of fish lingered throughout though, it almost made Lance throwup.

"Well, here goes.."

Alica runs towards the dock, flailing her arms around, shouting 'Waaait!'.
She reaches the not departed ship wich lance is on and waves to him 'You're not leaving without saying good-bye!' She says then smiles widely to him. 'Here..' She says and walks up on deck of the boat and walks over, handing him something. She then smiles again and walks down on the dock again, simply looking at him as the sailors get ready for departure.

Lance smiled and gave a wave,

"Thanks Alica! I'll miss you! He yelled.

The sailor boarded the ship, he was clad in blue clothing all seemed to be made of wool. He took his place near the wheel of the boat and yelled very loudly, that the ship was departing now.

Lance felt a slight tug as the ship began to move away from the pier. He looked over the sides of the boat and gave Alica one last goodbye wave and turned his attention to the water. He'd always loved the water. It brought back so many memories of him and Rhiannon when she was seen around Trollsbane...

"Well.. I suppose.." He thought to himself,

He looked upon the item Alica handed him as he left. It was an emerald with the etching, "Friends Forever" on it. He grinned and looked ahead.

After many days of sailing Lance finally heard the sailor shout, "Land ahead!" He grinned. Finally, the mainland was ever nearer. He was ecstatic, as well as full of energy and excitement.

He made his way to the front of the boat and looked over the edge, peering towards the land. He saw a small village and an equally small pier. He knew that's where he would start his journey to find them.

As Lance arrived at the pier he pakced up his things and exited the ship. The town was small, but bustling with many villagers. Many were dirty from head to toe and wore almost rags. He assumed it was a fishing, or a small farm village off of the coast.

He walked down a small dirt road, he thought his direction to be North. He came upon a small hut with no windows or doors. THey were either missing or smashed to pieces and laying about.

He passed it quickly, and headed further North until he was near an Inn. He entered and walked up the the counter,

"Excuse me. Does this town have a Library?" He asked the man.

The man nodded slowly, his yellowed and cracked teeth showing as he did. "It's down near the windmill" He said and shoo'd Lance away...

Galahan watched the boy leave in the shadows of the tree by the shop. He quickly made haste to catch up with him. He followed the boy slowly and quietly in the trees before slowly losing the boy because of the darkness and the shadows from the trees that were being casted off from the moon.
Galahan begin to turn back seeming as all hope was lost to catch up with the boy when he heard a scream. He begin to run in the direction of the scream when he suddenly came up the dock. Dropping low so no one could see him.
He quickly slid up behind the boat and narrowly jumped quietly as possible on. He instinctly hid behind some crates trying to stay out of the site of sailors and Lance. He layed back and fell asleep...

((Sorry for typos or the horrible roleplay. I'm tired.))

Lance made his way in the direction of the library.

"Perhaps they'll have a record of the citizens.." He thought.

He grinned, finally coming upon the tall building. It was among the tallest buildings in this village, built with large grey bricks and solid wooden doors.

He made his way up to the front door and opened it. The doorknob screeched slightly as he turned it. He entered a large area, filled with desks, chair and many, many books. There was an Elf sitting behind the counter, she had her nose buried deep in a novel. It was written in Elvish, but Lance didn't waste his time to decipher the title.

"Excuse me. Where is the citizen's archive ma'am?" He asked politely.

She nodded slowly and pointed to a large book. It had a leather spine and leather covers and was covered in a large mound of dust. Lance slowly walked over to it and opened the cover. There it had the alphabet written down in both Human and Elvish tongues. Hurriedly he flipped through the pages to the letter of his last name, 'L'.

"Lovett... Lovett.." He whispered to himself, trying to find his last name in the book.

Finally! He found it.. He places his index finger over his name and read all who were listed.

"Caerwyn:Mother John:Father Shane:Sibling" He read out loud, his eyes filled with excitement.

He read where they resided and the book read, 'North Tailorsdale.' He sighed. It just couldn't have been easy...

Galahan quickly made his way to the library after waking from his sleep. He stepped up to the library and opened the door, quickly slipping through. He stood behind a bookshelf with his hood on watching Lance quietly.
He slipped from the shelf and walked to the boy pulling off his hood.
" Why are you here?" He asked him firmly.

Lance nodded slowly and showed him in the book where it read, 'North Tailorsdale' and then closed it.

"I'm about to head out that way. I still remember where it is and everything. You can come if you want."

Lance slid the book back into place and started towards the Library's door.

Lance collected his things and headed out of the door. He was intent upon finding his parents, whether Galahan came or not. His pace quickened as he came across the fork in the road. HE read the directions and the names of the cities. HE headed North.
