Maybe i have not done it enough but i was fighting mummies for a long time andgot the blue swirly junk like 6 times... and i have gotten it many times before that but none of my skills (slashing or w/e longswords give) have gotten brighter... they are all dark blue... is it a bug for me? or is it harder than i thought.
Actually it does. And when you do gain it you will still be kinda weak (like a couple of my fighters) Best thing to do before you waste so much time training with him is to remake.

Accually it does, you must perform an action to gain skill, certain attributes effect sucess of certain things. You hit more you gain more slash, you dodge more you gain more dodge, you parry more you gain more parry, ect, and attributes effect your chances to do these things. A person with 3perc will never dodge, for example, thus never gaining dodge.
he's one point above the bare minimum. your gonna have trouble even with magic at that rate. here's a word to the wise, if you expect to be a warlock try to be at least 3 points over the bare minimum. your already gonna have half strenght magic so don't have half strenght magic that it takes you a billion years to learn.
I have a soft spot for normal, not extremely good in something like chars to.
And in the lich war, Kevin pwned pretty much with his 12 strenght. Though now in the time of maxed out strenght fighters, he's pretty much avarage even though he has bright green slashing weapons and parry skills.
Generaly I don't like the idea of 'pure' characters since unless there's a realy good reason noone should be in the extremes of something.
Kevin has a point and to Athian. Just because it takes long to learn doesnt mean i cant try. Baurus is facinated at the idea of a warlock and will try as hard as can to learn... sure its near impossible, but it can happen.
take 2 from strengh and 2 from constitution and put it to perception and you are able to hit something or someone... How will you be able to read books?
no, the thread just morphed.. and good with spell alright.. ill try a battlemage or warlock or whatever.. try and get Athian to teach me. just be more of a spellcaster... sides magic is neat and i would want to learn it anyway.
