Well, I think it's derailed a bit from the original post, but if we're going for wish lists here...

More to *do* (resources and merchants to both buy *and* sell) in towns other than Trolls Bane! ( ::cough..Varshikar..cough:: )

There is plenty to do in varshikar
honestly, you just the players do make the place interesting and that will attract more players.

Shut it Garett. Nothing will ever get people to go to other towns if Troll's Bane keeps having everything in a suitable range. And as long as it stays the central hub of activity.

You try governing a sleepy town like Vanima for a while, ruled by a stupendous elven stereotype, the naïve little critters who do nothing but wait because "it does not concern them", and try to kick some activity into that. Or try to get the players that whine about Vanima not being interesting enough or not enough people being there (while they themselves reside for lengths at a time in your marvelous town, that you supposivedly made oh so more active (I say bullshit)), and then get back to me with that stupid comment.

There's what... a mine not too far away... but not for the coal. A smithy... but again, no coal.

Trees.

Sand.

A single merchant, that only buy a few items, mostly smithed.

Am I forgetting anything?



Now... what does Troll's Bane have?

The Crypt. The Graveyard not far away.

Two mines not far away, and coal not too terribly far.

Lots of trees.

Pigs.

Sheep.

And, of course, let's not forget at least eight merchants I can think of off the top of my head.

All the tools needed for all the crafts.

All beginners start there now.

And plenty of other things I'm forgetting right now.

Thats not true at all, its hella far, I can get to varshikar in the same amount of time because of the roads. Its probobly just as fast to get there from Varshikar as it is Trollsbane.

Ah, my mistake, I was under the impression there was a coal mine not far away. But, I'm no smith, so I don't know myself.

Trees only becuase we hire a forester that plants trees, keep in mind that trees are easily gotten and last I check Varshikar had FAR more cherry trees and actually trees in general then Trolls Bane.
Varshikar has pigs and sheep as well, and much closer and pened in then trolls bane.
Merchants you are right, there are many, however Estralis has mentioned there are 20 (?) or so more merchants to be placed around the isle and so that problem will be fixed.
and Varshikar has all the tools they need in their own workshop, which is closer to a depot then in trolls bane.

Unless they were placed today, there are no pigs, and there were sheep in the past, however they seem to have disappeared.

Pigs are west of the castle. missing sheep is something whoever leads varshikar needs to contact a GM over.
