Feedback "suicide bunnies"

Post by Arameh »

Oh well it may not be completely finished but I wanted to give my opinion on it before going to bed. Well I found it was a funny quest and it has relatively got like it should be.

But I have seen bad RP from lot of players, mainly toward the dragon. Stephen lured the dragon out "which to me was *acceptable* as he was running like hell to keep a good distance", but around 10 character were running after the dragon! Some even were close enought to touch it, and the player of the dragon had already #me bites thoses close to him. Its a dragon! A dragon is a mighty creature that breathes flames and eats peoples! I mean use logic a little bit.

The thing is, peoples dosent seem to give a damn f*ck about dying. The ones that cares are thoses that dosent want to lose either skill or equipment from getting clouded. But even there that aint the point, if you have a RP character which has no skill, it dosent mean that you should do everything you want, like insulting bandits out of town or...running after a dragon! Anyways...just my opinion.

Edit : Oh well no need to start a big flame war about this, you can tell what you thought of the quest too :P

hm i liked the rp with the dragon, but who the smile was that woman? i cant believe it was a normal player, she took 9/10 with one of her arrows, and my attributes are great for a warrior and ive got poison-green skills in parry AND i had good armor, so who the hell was she?

Hoe everyone enjoyed it :) You all failed though. Faaaiiillled the main part of the quest :P You were *meant* to convince those poor lil' bunnies that life is nice.

And yes, I agree with Arameh. *ahem* Here's a lesson for you kids:

Dragon = big, mean, and scary

Sadly I had no stats so I couldn't smite anyone ;)

Overall, well done folks. Thanks to the elf who translated, and all those who took part in either helping or preventing bunny suicides.

OOhhhh!!! That's what those bunnies were for?

I'm sorry, but Dusty just saw them as vermin and he tried killing them. He sees rabbits all the time in Greenbriar, and if you don't kill them fast, they tend to multiply and get everywhere!

Dusty just thought he doing Trollsbane a public service! Sorry about that.

Hero syndrome is a well documented phenomena of otherwise intelligent characters.

I mean, take the earlier quest that evening. People were hiding in the shop because there were swarms of skeletons outside. So what do they do, open the doors to go and meet them.

Then later, beholders were falling from the sky. So everyone rushes out to watch the show. I mean.....eh?

Yeah I kinda made such a face like o_O when people started trying to mount the back of an angry hungry dragon. Fools :P

I'd also like to comment that the dragon and rabbit graphics are amazing :D

I didn't participate in the dragon/bunny thing, but in the attack of Skeletons and Beholders.
And I must say there are some things which were not good:

The monsters were quite hard for non-fighters and they seemed to apear INSIDE the town without explanation (something like "Skeletons break out of the ground" or "Beholders come down from the sky"). So there just appeared skeleton after skeleton right between the players.

The biggest flaw was the deadly mist/gas/whatever inside the shop! Suddenly some players just died. No explanation, nothing.
"Maybe I got poisoned from the monster?", to the cross, back into the shop to retake the good equipment you were wearing while fighting monsters before - and you immediately died again! WTF?!

A good idea was the wall-breakthrough in the shop and the mysterious lack of control of the skeletons...

PS: The people hiding inside the shop came out to help other persons outside...

Because it's a damned Dragon for one, and two, Knights still have fears. Just because you're character is a knight doesn't mean he's fearless. Damn.

Not true, I've seen Neg do some stupid shit, If you make your character act fearless, it takes the life out of the character. And it gets boring.

 The dragon was near TB and it attacked a bunny, that was enough for neg to hunt it. And the people who were there should remember, that he was shocked in the first moment, but when the dragon startet to follow the bunny, it was enough and neg hunted it...

We never try to make the player feel bad about his/her roleplay. As PO brer has said, there is no such thing as bad roleplay. Simply do as we did ingame, treat the ones trying to be a hero, trying to ride the dragon, as fools. You need not insult them ooc, you do not play their character, they do.

That's just it. Did he have some, special connections with that bunny? No. If you were trying to play a hero like half of Trollsbane was, you kind'a failed.

I'm not insulting his RP. I'm stating an opinion.

Remember, this is a game. While it may be more logical to run and hide from a dragon, it wouldn't be as fun to some people. People KNOW they are playing a game, they KNOW if they "die" it would be so bad. Why would they want to stay in a shop that they see everyday they play while the people who have skill in blades and shields should get to see every adventure?
