Problem with Leveling
I know I'm new, but I think this must be a technical problem...
I've killed at least 80 pigs with my staff, and my Concussion Weapon skill never goes up. I get the swirling light that indicates a level-up, but the listing under "F8" never changes. Just to try something different, I killed two pigs with daggers. After just two kills, my Puncture Weapon skill is already higher than Concussion. Is this a problem in-game?

and what about my problem? i am doin mining and fightin now for the second day and neither mining nor parry, tactics, hitweapons(?) changed colors, but i saw a lot of squirals. I understand with parry, because its allready green and i know it takes a lot of squirals then to get a new color, but i dont understand with hitweapons, its light blue and didnt change for about 120 mummies now <.<
Most people cannot detect notable changes inbetween a few shades of the color blue. Consider, you have a chance to level every sucessful hit, now also consider how much faster you attack with a dagger than a staff. Now, this is balanced because you will hit your exp cap faster with the dagger than with you conc, and the closer you are to you cap the less likely you are to learn. At low levels you can't really see this occuring because of how easy it is to skill up anything.
Also note, levelling is based basically on controlled luck.

It has more to do with the fact that the average human eye could not spot the difference between blue 250 and blue 245. Its like, can you spot the difference betwen 1/100th of an inch and 3/100th of an inch? Probobly not with out a microscope.Negyth wrote:me?
As you seem to be unable to detect the actual point behind my sarcasm I will clarify.
I got the point just fine. I think you missed the point of my initial post. I have no problem with the concept of having to do A LOT with an action to try and level-up. I simply didn't understand why one form of attack seemed completely stagnant (no visible change in over 80 kills), and another showed change in no time (just two kills). The difference seemed too illogical to not merit explanation.
