I think barehanded most people would be skrewed against a wild wolf.

But give them even a decent stick to defend themselves and its a whole different ball game.

An animal would, in reality, be fairly quick to flee. A wolf wouldn't risk serious injury for a meal unless it was very, very hungry. If you're injured, you can't hunt.

Oh, and an unarmed human against a wolf is just asking to be eaten. Even a stick is better than nothing.

Their jaws can break your bones and they go straight for your neck. I really doubt a grown man could kill a wolf barehanded. a very well trained man could yes, but the average man, no chance.

Have uber strong wolves spawned deeper in the southern forest. I have no problem with strong monsters ingame. It is when they are at the south bridge, being spawned there, that it becomes a problem.
And for the arguement that the strong wolf would eventually find its way to the south bridge by following someone, I expect the wolf to kill its prey long before it reaches the south bridge ;)
a grown man, even untrained, could hold off a wolf. He'd have to injure it quickly though, because the wolf would be strong. But only attack wise. The man could easily injure the wofl with a punch to the nose. Most wild animals are easy enough to hurt with a swift punch or kick, leaving enough time to snap its neck or attack otherwise.

Shall we be putting you to the test?

Im 16, and im pretty sure no wild wolf of normal size could kill me. They usually bite your leg, you just put your fingers in their eyes! Or even kick before it bites you, you just got to hit the nose, and its down if youve hit with enought power, wild wolves arent that big. I must say if they bite your neck youre fucked, but they arent cats! They cant jump 5 feets high with precision.

And a madman with a shotgun, pfft you just jump six feet in the air...manage a backflip and snap his neck a la Metal Gear Solid series. So simple, all it takes is the "X" button.

You really shouldn't keep a wolf as a pet. They're really not bred for domestication.

I'll tell you what, if someone can post a video (or a link to one) of someone beating a wolf barehandedly before someone can post one of someone being eaten by a wolf. Then their strength will be reduced.

Aye?

If a wild wolf runs at you you will first piss into your pants before you think about anything. You would even piss your pants when a dog whould run at you with fletching teeth and growl. And even a dog can kill you.

Do you think the police uses trained dogs to take down criminals because dogs can be so easily defeated by an unarmed human?

They can. But most people piss themselves and cry like a baby. But it is possible to kill them barehandedly. And I was not scared when a growling dog ran at me. Although all it did was jump on me and lick me to death.

@ Arameh:

your 16 years old. not even an adult so your a bit young to be taking on wolves. now so you know real predators in real life, (as in not your neighbors scary poodle) don't attack your legs. they try to tear your throat out. natural predators don't fight, they kill things. wolves don't spend there time trying to take out a deer by nibbling there ankles. and while you may stand over five feet tall from the wolves jaws to your throat isn't a five foot jump. that would mean you stood well over ten feet.
not to mention animals like wolves are pretty agile. hes not going to wrestle you, probably just rip something off back off and follow you till you bleed out and die.

strenght wise wolves must be stronger because the players of tank characters mage or otherwsie are fictious in there strenght. so wolves must be beyond normal wolves or there no point in having them. ya know

No one is debating that we need to have strong creatures in the game.

What we *are* complaining about is that everyone seems so worried about catering to the uber-characters, that you're forgetting that newbies need a relatively safe place to train up, too!

If you want Troll's Bane to cater to the uberchars, then make a safer place for newcomers to learn and train. However, I think it makes much more sense to have Trolls Bane relatively safe, since its where you START, and make the chars with the money for portals and who know the map and so forth go find interesting opponents elsewhere.

trollsbane can't be safe because it is the starting place. most players never go anywhere else, even if you wake up in another town no ones there, everything happens in trollsbane.

and yes strenght of wolves was mentioned here so i think its part of the topic, shall i start quoting for you?

if newbies want a safe place to train i'm all for it. but thats something that needs to be implimented (much like my arena idea doesn't that sound nice now) and not make shifted by moving this here and putting that there so to speak.

btw a newbie is 18+ fighting or magic stats is still a tank character, just minus the skills.

the only time they go elsewhere is when friends go along......or in the case of Vanima to buy tools......i hope the other places can draw people to them as well soon, then we can have what we want in this case

Maybe multi-quests at the same time that is. So one in Vanima for elfs only, one in trollsbane and Varshikar for any race. ThaT SHOULD MAKE THEM MORE POPULAR.

EDIT: Damn caps.
