General Questions from a Noob

Post by Jalen Noel »

I've really enjoyed my time playing Illarion so far, and I'd like to thank everyone who's helped me in-game with my various questions. In an effort to avoid annoying people who are trying to do their thing roleplaying, I thought I'd post some of my questions here:

1. Where/Who is the best place/person for unloading your dried leathers from all those hours of pig killing? Are there any NPCs who buy them?

2. What is the best way to get involved in some of the storylines and RPG of the game?

3. What is the value of the various monetary pieces (copper, silver, etc) in relation to each other? For example, how many copper pieces is one silver piece worth? Is there any kind of bank that will allow you to exchange your coppers for those much-needed silvers?

4. I cannot find a two-handed saw among any of the merchants in Trolls Bane. Where can I get one?

5. What good is my hatchet? I have yet to find a use for it.

6. And finally... does anyone know how to perform glassblowing? I've tried everything, but I can't ever make it work.

Ok i can answer the alst few.. the Hatchet you shift click it thena tree continualy until it falls. then you cut the fallen tree to get wood.

for glassblowing you need sand, a glassblowing pipe, and ashes and a wooden shovel.

1 silver is 100 coppers.

1) There are no two-handed saws.
I believe you mean a 'saw'? Try looking north of TrollsBane.

2) As for the leathers, I might recommend looking for a 'needle' and 'scissors' (see #1) and RPing for some thread for now, or you can buy it, but the price is expensive now. Later, you could make some yourself. Then, make some leather shoes and sell them to several vendors on the isle (sorry, you'll have to find them yourself).

3) As for the storylines......well, I would read as many forums as you can and RP the rest. You have to meet people. Be concerned about their problems and issues and get involved if you can. The object is 'Roleplay' and have fun at it.

Hope this helps. :D

I dont think there's an npc who will buy leather. Either find a leatherworker and sell them, or make shoes. Lots of shoes ;)

2. What is the best way to get involved in some of the storylines and RPG of the game?

Keep roleplaying! Eventually your character will work himself into some sort of storyline ;)

3. What is the value of the various monetary pieces (copper, silver, etc) in relation to each other? For example, how many copper pieces is one silver piece worth? Is there any kind of bank that will allow you to exchange your coppers for those much-needed silvers?

100 copper = 1 silver. There are (or were) some player-controled banks somewhere out there. Check the guild and RP boards

4. I cannot find a two-handed saw among any of the merchants in Trolls Bane. Where can I get one?

Non existant ;)

5. What good is my hatchet? I have yet to find a use for it.

Trees and lighting fires

6. And finally... does anyone know how to perform glassblowing? I've tried everything, but I can't ever make it work.

There is a tutorial on one of the fansites, check the links page. Otherwise find a glassblower ingame for a good roleplay opportunity :)

A good way to get into the RP, etc. is to ask these sorts of 'How do I do....?' questions IC, IG. Gets a bit of interraction going and helps you to get to know people and them to get to know your character. Give it a try.

Question

Friend said you need tree knowledge or something to chop the tree.
Is that true?
Because, even infront of apple tree I click and on the hatchet it says tree not chopable please choose another one?

shift click the hatchet, then click the tree, then release shift. If you just click the hatchet nothing happens.
